I was 11 years old when Black Sabbath's debut album was released and when we first heard it, my friends and I felt like it was music made specifically for us, at our age, what we wanted. Led Zepplelin, Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper all did that for me at that age.Man, I'm born in '89 so despite always loving Black Sabbath its been experienced with exposure to like another 20-30 years of other heavy music, I just cant imagine how it must've been for the people back in 1970 blasting this on the record player for the first time, the opening track setting the tone still feel really heavy today.
I saw Sabbath at Ozzfest in 2000. They were incredibly tight! They played a lot of tunes from the first 4 albums - glorious!I was fortunate enough to see Sabbath in '99. They are unequivocally my favorite band. RIP, Ozzy.
