The proportions from bridge to neck are well aligned, everything just sinks in when i look at it.

Thanks...I really need to get a better picture for everyone. I agree, I think that everything just looks right. It sounds great as well. I keep getting asked if I'm playing a fretless bass....I can get a lot of mwah from it. It's also a very punchy bass..the notes are very immediate. Brian is doing some great work....I can't wait to see the next one to come out of the shop (Nicky!!).
Just wanted to say that I'm shocked that the mahogany/myrtle bass is still at the luthiers access group...that's still one of the best basses I've ever played!

Edit: If that had the Nordstrand three band preamp (I really dislike the Audere pre's), and a 'single coil' switch for the dual coils, for that price, I'd buy it just to noodle on. Man, for someone who likes an Audere pre, that price is crazy low for a bass of that quality.

The price is crazy low...I agree. As for the Audere, I really wanted to like that preamp but I couldn't get into it.....with that said, it really works in that bass. Honestly, the bass sounds great flat. It doesn't really need a preamp, so the Audere just acts as the salt and pepper to taste. I was surprised myself. Honestly I don't care for the Nordstrand dual coils either, but again, in that bass it just all comes together.
Also, keep in mind that I believe it's a 35" scale.....you're doing 34" these days right?
....still, it's an unbelievable bass.
I think the extra dot looks great, makes the tip of the arrow if you look at it in relation to the other dots

Sorry for the delay all...here are some new photos. Also, Brian installed a Nordstrand 3 band preamp in place of the ACG. Highly recommended. I also switched back to the nickel Fodera strings instead of the steel. The nickels are much better on this bass......and I think some Bart CB dual coils are going into the bass until I can get the money up for some custom Duncan's. The particular Armstrong pickups that I have are too bright for my taste. I can't dial out the zing.

Great pictures Andy. Dig it! I actually swapped out the Audere preamp in my Ristola 5 for the Nordstrand. Glad you like it. I really want to see the ACG as an external box.
I don't know how the ACG would work externally, but if it would it's a great idea. I'd personally love to see Alan revise it so you can have one filter with a 3 band eq, or even one filter with a dedicated bass eq would work. I think it's a far way off though considering it would take a lot of money for him to revamp it. It really is a great preamp. I'm glad to have the regular 3 band back though.
