Hello Sir, and thanks for joining...! You have some really great basses there - hos does the Raptor compare to the Classic in terms of playability? Never had my hands on one of those myself, unfortunately. It sounds really interesting with the sound options...!

Welcome to the club, you're in as #30 :) Member list updated in last post on page 17.

(Man, 30 members already...? Never thought there would be that many Ritter owners on TB - and I even know of a few who are not in this club)

The Raptor is very easy to play standing up. Sitting down is a slightly different story as the point of the lower horn tends to dig into the top of your thigh slightly. If I were to do a custom Raptor I would have Jens extend the lower arm out slightly to give us "lap players" of this instrument a little relief. LoL. Comparing the Raptor to the Classic I would have to say its quite an adjustment going from a 2 octave neck to a neck slightly over 3 octaves.
But its a fun stretch. I cant seem to get enough of either bass and STILL have not tapped into all their tonal possibilities. I do believe I see a fretless on the horizon....hmmmm:ninja:

Heh, I could imagine that lower horn would be a problem when sitting down :)

I don't know about the Raptor, but I guess your Classic has the same tonal options as my Roya - you can just go on exploring the settings forever, and so far I haven't been able to find a setting that sounds bad...! Unbelievable.

Let us know when that fretless pops up...! :p

Body-top:Master Grade Campher Burl
Neck-Wood:Limba
Fingerboard:Ebony

This is the most beautiful instrument I've ever met!
I have been overwhelmed by her stunning Top Campher Burl!
Somehow it reminds me a statue of Buddha.

Fun to look,fun to feel,fun to play.
Sounds JUST GORGIOUS!

I never knew Okon is your design till I check here.
Its scroll design is just KILLING!!Far better than CT.(sorry for CT fan)

There's a mysterious photo for me on page 7 on this thread.
From the wood pattern I'm sure its the same as my Okon.
And its got the strange string configuration.
Was Jens trying to make a 12 strings Okon?
Was it prototype for the show?

I hope to hear if you know anything about it.

+1 on the DR strings. I use the Black Beauties on my black Raptor. They also give me the option of a .130 guage B string. They make my Ritter sound and look great.

Oh, man - you got the one piece flame maple concept??? I'm VERY jealous, but I thought of you the second I saw it, as you had stated you had something very special on the way - got my curiousity satisfied :)

A big congrats on that one, it's a beauty...!!
