Does anybody kn ow what happened to the "Queen Cora" Jens was building? There was a posting up on his website for a few months towards the end of the year, then it just disappeared and the bass never showed up. I was looking forward to seeing it. Anyone have the scoop?

May I get a number?
This Ritter Classic is a special gift from my best mate

Thank you,
I have yet to even play this Ritter. I am not to the point Iwhere I can play it like it deserves. Maybe in a year or so I will be capable of playing this without making like a total NOOB. LOL . I,m getting there though.
I know I know, nothing more laughable than a NOOB with expensive equipment looking like a fool. The same friend also was the same person that felt that I would be a good bass player if I really applied myself to doing as best I could. He started me on a Silverstone 4 string bass. I found myself loving to play the bass so much that I even brought it to work and played any chance i could. I literally wore that Silvertone out, so I figured I needed to start learning to play a 5 string so I looked and looked and found an Alvarez 5 string bass.
I still have that Sivertone and it has a place of honor in my home.

Guys, help me out!!!:help:
(yes, I'm abusing of your kindness...)

I need a flight case ASAP for my 4 string Okon!!
I know Jens makes one (at least he used to, apparently the online shop is out), but it is darn expensive.. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a good flight case that fits the Okon.

Let me know, please!:help:

Greg

I'm sure Jens could get one for you if you really need it - what do you need it for, and what's your budget? Seeing that you think his is too expensive. If you need something really strong like a good plywood box with custom padding, it won't be cheap. On the other hand, it's pretty easy to find cheaper plastic cases locally and swap out the padding with heavy foam that you can cut to shape yourself. Still, it won't take a beating the way a plywood box will :)

I was looking for a case just to put my bass in, so it could be stack with other stuff during transportation when touring. But I wanted something that could withstand some abuse. I actually took my Okon with me to a whole bunch of music shops to try some cases, and ended up buying a Rockcase (by Warwick), which seemed a good deal and looks fairly good. The bass fits very well inside, and it comes with some extra foam for a custom snug fit. Apparently, it looks very safe! Let's see if it can handle for a while.

But I do plan on getting one from Jens. I'll talk with him about it. Thanks for the answer!!

By the way, does anyone here own a flight case ordered directly form Jens? Would ask for pictures be too much??? :hiding:

Greg

I was so sure I had some pics of both my cases that I just started replying and went to find the links - turns out I don't have any pictures...! Strange :hmm:

Anyway, I have the "fancy" flight case for my Platinum Concept and a massive tank of a case that would withstand a nuclear war without a scratch for my fretted Roya. I didn't order any of them from Jens, though, the basses were just shipped in them.

I think you'll do OK with the Warwick Rockcase, but the custom made cases are the safest in the long run. Mind you, the strongest ones are HEAVY, though ;)
