I think you'll do OK with the Warwick Rockcase, but the custom made cases are the safest in the long run. Mind you, the strongest ones are HEAVY, though ;)

But are these cases like the ones he sell?
Any chance of you knowing who makes them?
I'm aware of the weight... I had one for a Status bass I had that was not only HEAVY, but HUGE! And I mean huge! Talk about logistics... :p
I guess thats the price we pay to keep them safe, be it at the airport or fighting against elephants... (not that I fight elephants often... :cool: )

If you eventually find those pictures, I would love to see them... Feel free to shoot me an email with them, or post them here, whatever is best for you!

I also have a custom Roya 5 on the way, Jens has promised me pics and updates for a loooooong time, but as great as he is at building basses, he just can't manage to communicate with customers by e-mail. I guess I should call him - my bass should have been finished in March.

Both of them are Ritter cases, made with custom padding for the Roya shape, but I don't know who made them - they're quite different. I'll see if I can get some info/pics for you :)

Just wanted to say I played my Classic for a Christian concert and went direct into the direct box with no amp. Both the monitor and front house engineers said the couldn't believe the clarity, punch and definition of the bass. I fell in love with her all over again after that night!

Im not sure if Jens has reached out to any of you but he has been in an accident. He is alive and well but has severely damaged his arm and shoulder. He told me the Drs report is he may never be able to build again. However he (being the resourceful man that he is) has found a special Physiotherapist and she believes she can give him back full mobility in a few months but its not definite. For those of you who believe in a higher power please pray. For those of you who don't please think positive thoughts and lets all send him our warmest regards for his FULL recovery. The man is more important than the bass!!!

I think Jens sent out the e-mail regarding longer delivery times on some instruments because of "an accident" to the people on his e-mailing list a few weeks ago - I tried to e-mail him back for more info, but he didn't reply. Then he suddenly called me yesterday, and we had a short talk. It seems he was in an accident involving an ATV, driving in a forest with no lights on, and no protective equipment - he's not too proud of it !
He said he suddenly woke up beneath the vehicle and had hurt his back and shoulder, and broken his arm. The first doctors that treated him said he would probably never be able to build basses again, which sent him into depression for about 3 weeks, understandably. What would he do if he couldn't build basses? Crazy...
Luckily, he has found the physiotherapist that LaMarquis J mentions, and she believes she can get him back in shape this year. I don't believe in any higher powers, but I do believe Jens wants recovery more than anything else, and I for one will support him any way I can.

I told him it would be fine to delay finishing my new bass (which I paid the deposit for just a few months ago), but he said it basically finished, he's only waiting for the hardware...! :eek: So in less than two months it's actually done - I guess Jens really wanted to see the how this one would turn out.

Regarding builds and deliveries, Jens will most likely not participate in any trade shows or build special stuff for the rest of the year, while more basic stuff can get through at a slower pace than normal. Highly custom stuff will wait until next year, it seems.

Also bad luck for the US guys who were expecting him at the GTG soon, I guess... Dave?

Jens is obviously disappointed he won't be in DC, but (and this is so typical of Jens) we're going to have him joins via video conference and he'll give us a tour of his studio and workshop and do a Q&A!

Yup, very bad news... I talked to him via email this week and he told me about the accident (writing only with his left hand...). As everyone, I just wish for a speedy, healthy recovery.

We've just tested Jens' new camera and WLAN extender.
Jens will walk around to show his studio/workshop and answer questions while his father follows him with the camera :D
Although he'd rather be there, he's doing all he can in his current situation.

@Basdyret: I totally forgot to ask Jens if I could see your bass. Grrr... Guess I'll have to wait for the pictures too.

Having been on the other end of the the camera this aftenoon I can report how well it worked and also how good Jens looked - apart from the sling he looked like his old self!

Nice to me Herr Ritter senior too!

Heh, Jens called me up on Skype yesterday - did a few test runs before he explained that he was trying out his new equipment and wanted to use me as a guinea pig :)
I guess I have a really bad connection here in Japan, where I am now, because he never came through very clearly on the video feed for me - but good enough to get a quick look at the workshop and say hello to his dad :p

@frizzle: yeah, I should have asked him for a quick glance as well...! I just had to run because the two kids started making noise at the same time (got the second one last Saturday! Back to not sleeping at night...!).

Maybe our newly expanded family will move back to Denmark this summer - seeing I've failed to find a new job in China so far - and then I hope I'll be able to take a trip down to pay Jens a visit, have my fretted Roya fixed, and pick up the new baby :)

Very cool - we did a screen capture of the presentation for Jens so I expect he'll either post it to his site or I'm sure if you ask you'll be able to get to watch it!

We had six Ritter's there, including Sage Infinity's brand new Royal - stunning bass. Aram B's Supernova is pretty awesome too? Actually six stunning basses! :D

We've added Jens' recent presentation to the GTG we had here in Washington D.C. to the www.dmvbass.com website. It has been edited into 4 parts to meet the YouTube upload requirements, but I think you'll find it pretty cool to watch and learn!
