I m a musiman player and don't know a thing about fenders road worn or Reissue basses. What makes them cheaper than American fenders?

A Scratch and Dent Roadworn has got to be the deal of the year!
I'd really like to see them bring out an Olypic White and Rosewood 60s Roadworn P bass.

That and the person who put a Roadworn in a scratch and dent sale has to be voted idiot of the year by all retailers and store owners, everywhere!
I was able to play a 50s sunburst RW P-bass at my local Guitar Center and it was one of the best p-basses I've ever played. Great feel and tone. Fender has got it right, they just need to offer maybe a couple more color options and models.
Imagine if you could order a roadworn in any standard fender colour and in one of say two levels of condition: 1. Lightly aged - the appearance of an old instrument that has been very well cared for but well used; 2. Heavily worn as in the current Roadworn designs.
What colour and condition would you choose? Personally Id go for a Lightly aged Shoreline gold model.
