I am not one of those "anti-relic/roadworn" guys, but this is the stupidest looking thing I have seen in a long time.

Nobody commented on how he is wearing shorts...at a gig.... sheesh
This x 100. Just looks silly and amateurish to me.

I've heard Metallica doesn't like to run AC during their shows. But James and Kirk don't wear shorts that I've ever seen...don't know about Lars, though. But to also take a peek back through the Veil of History; Wasn't Metallica one of those bands who went out of their way to eschew the "glam/too-tight-pants/more-makeup-than-the-groupies" or the "cover-everything-with-leather-and-spikes" style sensibilities that the early-'80s L.A. metal scene expected of them? Besides, which is more professional…going on stage in shorts and a t-shirt or passing out from heat prostration? (Have you seen him sweat it out on stage?! Yeesh!)

I honestly haven't cared for them since Cliff died. Not only did he go, but something was never the same after that.
This Trujillo guy and that Nugent wannabe, plus that champagne drinking, art selling, short wearing, sawed off, face making goofus can all go get a clue. Kirk is alright though.
I'm sure this bass in question is some lame attempt at art or making a statement like "my playing is so hot my bass caught on fire!".
On that note...gimme Anthrax or give me Slayer, or even that yutz Mustaine over these clown shoes.
Those pants are uglier than shortsAsk Pete. Sometimes you get a chip here and there when you play live music. It happens.

You can be as cheezed as you want. It's my bass I will do what I want with it...it's just a tool.I would be pretty cheesed off if I made a bass for someone and he tipped it on the floor. There's more to making instruments than just getting paid.

Flea agrees. But his ears get cold.Welcome to the Subjectivity of Esthetics and Artistic Taste. Grab a seat. You'll know which one is yours since it will likely look unlike anyone else's.
Then please, go tell him to his face. Me? I think I'll take a pass on getting stuffed face-down into a garbage can. I, for one, know not to go "Messin' With Sasquatch"!
