Just read a report that the man responsible for Spinal Tap, and many other great films, has apparently been found dead, with his wife.

So sad to read this, especially since watching Spinal Tap II, The End Continues yesterday afternoon. The sheer volume of quality material Rob Reiner was involved with is monumental. What a tragedy and a waste.

Yeah, I just watched ST2 not too long ago. I was always reminded how talented Rob Reiner was. Didn’t know too much about his wife, but still a tragic loss. Condolences to the family and friends. It’s such a shame.

I'm so sad about this, just a terrible tragedy. The man was incredibly talented, and a good guy according to colleagues. His run as a director in the '80s and early '90s, not to mention projects later on, was pretty incredible in terms of its quality and the diversity of material. He's underrated.

I'll always remember him as DiCaprio's dad in The Wolf Of Wall Street – a standout in a movie already full of amusing characters.
Many comedies won't get a single audible chuckle out of me, but that Stonehenge scene in Spinal Tap gets me every single time.
