Rock band with saxophone

i need to listen some rock band with a good saxophone, somethings like Morphine or some Gallon Drunk. I like Terry Edwards very much.
We would like to add a sax in our band and we need some rock bands for inspiring us.
Any help?

How about an older one, Climax Blues Band. Their FM Live LP is just the 4 guys. Guitar ,bass drums and sax. It was a great show.

I don't know much but I do know that my girlfriend ( future wife ) and her friends in high school were over the moon for "Sexy Sax Guy" ( Steve Norman ) from Spandau Ballet.

Duran Duran had a lot of sax work on the Rio album.

No one has mentioned Spandau Ballet or INXS (well, Funky Ghost did just before me). Both had a lot of sax in their songs. And some killer bass grooves, too:


But when you say "Rock" and "Sax" together this is what jumps into my mind:

The only names you need to know would be King Curtis and Bobby Keys; everything else is secondary.

I'd say Keyes is secondary to Curtis by quite a bit, but I grew up with a sax player for a father, and Curtis truly was King around our house. I often found Keyes to be a hair out of tune. At that second level I'd also add Jim Horn, Tom Scott, David Sanborn and Michael Brecker. Scott, Sanborn and Brecker are jazz guys who've played on many great rock cuts as well. Jim Horn goes way back to Duane Eddy's touring band, but this cut on a Joe Cocker tune, backed by most of Curtis's band (Bernard Purdie, Chuck Rainey, Cornell Dupree) not long after Curtis was stabbed to death on his doorstep, shows that he had some of the same soul that Curtis breathed into so many artists' work, from the Coasters to Aretha to John Lennon.
