Bowie is next. Casting him should be interesting.

It was interesting. About a third of it was basically a musical, which I didn't know about. Like songs and spontaneous choreographed dancing kind of musical. I don't know anything about the man's life but I get the impression that it wasn't at all historically accurate. It was an odd movie. Very surreal. The fella playing him did an excellent job. I don't know. I think it was kind of great. I've had a very long day so I'm not really sure. It was better than Bohemian Rhapsody. There's a part where he's bumping uglies with Robb Stark and two people wanted out and everyone laughed and boo'd at them, which I enjoyed. It was a good movie.

My wife, son and I saw it tonight. It was ok. Definitely not as good as Bohemian Rhapsody. To me, Bohemian Rhapsody was a biography that featured music. Rocketman seemed more like a musical that was trying to tell a story. There were some things that I didn't know about Elton but I expected there to be more of a story. It was more like Mama Mia with a lot of song and dance numbers. The singing was also better in Bohemian Rhapsody. I would give it a 6 out of 10. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great.

Sounds like this movie will have a harder edge than Bohemian Rhapsody. I’m not sure that’s a good thing. But I’m interested in seeing it.

What says TB? Burning up his fuse up there alone?
Oh, hahahah. I totally thought you meant adding the song to your set list

I was going to say that you had to do the "Me First and the Gimme Gimmes" version though.

No. If you're going to bar it on someone's life them base it on someone's life. It, like bohemian Rhapsody is probably mostly fiction.

Yes. A historically accurate biography narrated by Morgan Freeman with a few interviews and some grainy concert footage with bad sound would be way better.

Dee Murray was F@#$ing AWESOME. I listened to Elton for Dee. I didn't even notice there was some guy singing until about the tenth time through Daniel. BTW listen to Daniel.... the whole band speeds up by .. I reckon 10 clicks by the end. Basslines YOU should be able to play:"Rocketman", (duh), "Gbye Yellbrick RD", "Philadelphia Freedom", "Daniel", "Take Me to the Pilot"....
"Crocodile Rock" (that's right , I said it), Don't go breaking my heart ( ok , maybe not THAT one).. but sure as hell, learn "Honky Cat". Any other Dee Murray gems I left out ?.... surely. What?.... What's that you say ? SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALRIGHT FOR FIGHTING???

I don't go to concerts anymore but had the good fortune to sit second row right in front of Elton a couple of years ago. Holy *#!$ he’s a total badass performer and completely engaged with the audience. But not interested in the movie, mainly because I don’t go to movies either.

The guy plays and sings his ass off .. past 70 y/o. he. does . not. phone it in. saw him in the ATL after he cancelled in FLA a coupla night before. It was not up to his usual. He knew it.. that's why he booked two more shows in Atlanta again( well that an prolly 2 million dollars).... ain't goin out like that. Don;t think I care about the movie..... I am just amazed at how he has written music to another persons lyrics throughout his career and sold it so well and performed/recorded them so well as the total package.
