Sounds like this movie will have a harder edge than Bohemian Rhapsody. I’m not sure that’s a good thing. But I’m interested in seeing it.

What says TB? Burning up his fuse up there alone?
Saw it the night before it opened at a preview. Very entertaining, but not really about music or the music business. I love EJ's 70's music and the movie leans heavily on that era, so... good times.

All those guys, Nigel, Dee, Davey... they could sing and I think the gen pub doesn't realize how much credit they deserve for their backing vocals. This is just one example, the only isolated one I could find. Not one of my fave songs.... but These guys were solid musicians... no auto tune needed,,, nor available, A singing bass player like Dee Murray.?.. wow,,, he would have a full calendar even today.

My wife, son and I saw it tonight. It was ok. Definitely not as good as Bohemian Rhapsody. To me, Bohemian Rhapsody was a biography that featured music. Rocketman seemed more like a musical that was trying to tell a story. It was more like Mama Mia with a lot of song and dance numbers. The singing was also better in Bohemian Rhapsody. I would give it a 6 out of 10.
thanks for the warning...looks like I'll stay home with my vodker and tonics listening to Elton on Vinyl

I'm not clamoring to see it, but will probably eventually see it when comes around on streaming media. I did find it interesting that Elton, still being alive, would have the opportunity to be involved with and get to see his own biopic I would have hoped that he would have had some say in the process and made it a little more factual and little less director fantasy.
