Why has Waters been banned from the site?

I would guess the answer to that lies in the legal paperwork that happened when Roger quit and then sued the band and lost.
I don't think Gilmour could be bothered to waste his time making some new change to their website to ban Waters.
Roger seems to have time to point his attention in that direction at the moment, he needs a project to work on.
Somebody here should ring him up and ask for his help producing your bands next record.

I think Gilmour is pretty much over it, and has been for years. They had a struggle, he won, Roger's still bitter about it. What else is there for Gilmour to comment on? If Waters had a legal leg to stand on, he'd be suing, instead of whining publicly.

Gilmour/Mason have ownership of the Pink Floyd name and I'm sure they both learned a lesson a long time ago what happens when Roger is in control.

I don't think a recording artist owes explanations to their fans, especially about anything personal.
PF fans are aware (or should be) that Roger Waters left the band 35 years ago.
Roger Waters fans should probably be intelligent enough to find a Rogers Waters website that would be full of all the things Roger has done since 1985.
Fans are consumers of the music created and they pay for it, that's as far as the relationship should ever go, the band works hard to produce music they are proud of and hope that a lot of people like it, if people do not want the product the band can decide how they would like to proceed.
Music fans don't own a band and sports fans are not on the team, though they often refer to their favorite teams as "our" team.
A recording artist/band makes records and people either like them or not, catering on command to anybody outside the band is the surest way to ruin a good thing, bands have let producers and record companies spoil things far too often, fans always want more of the same, not a good thing most of the time (ZZ Top making the same record over and over and over again for the last 30+ years).
I would guess that all Pink Floyd fans are predominantly fans of Waters era Floyd, since those records have been confirmed worldwide as game changing music.
I don't think any PF fans, Gilmour solo fans, or Waters solo fans have been cheated out of anything.

Compare Waters to Macca. Maybe if Waters decided to promote his solo projects (like Wings did) and concentrated on that type of success he may achieve it. Instead he chooses to trash a band he left three and a half decades ago. That is longer than many of the fans have been alive. There is a plethora of threads here bemoaning band drama. You continue with life and let the go. He has made the decision not to.

I am getting the impression you haven’t visited the website. Roger Waters has not been removed from History.

The conflict here is that Roger wants the body of his solo work linked from, and promoted by, the Pink Floyd website.

It’s an unreasonable request, even if it came from someone that left the group on civil terms.

If by “beige” you mean selling over 100 million albums and becoming popular to the general public, you couldn’t be more right.

The band has never been in my list, neither pre nor post 1980. They don’t do much for me. But it is easy to recognize that a huge part of the population adores Phil Collins.
