Anyone looking to sell their Roscoe Classic Jazz, I am in the market? Currently trying to sell/trade my Lakland DJ5. Shoot me a message.
I saw Adam's bass. He is not looking for trades so still need to sell the DJ5 before I can make an offer.
I do! Can't speak to alder, but everyone says it's a bit lighter, but not much different in tone. Roscoe himself said poplar a perfectly good wood, hence using it in the first place, that it just doesn't have the rep of alder or swamp ash. Mine is just over 9lbs. Yeah, there are lighter j-style 5ers out there but can't imagine a J-bass getting better than this other than by being lighter. Clear and tight B that I have only heard on a Lakland. I put the Nordy J-blades cause the Aguilar HCs it came with are too bland for me. Waiting for a Lusithand NFP filter (basically a tone knob on steriods) to put into this passive beauty.

Poplar clocks in all over the map. So does Alder. My Alder classic is on the light side.
My PJ5 is 12/13 pounds, but it resonances the best out of all my basses. I just wish it was closer to 9lbs, but the wood gives it its tone.

I'm really late to this thread. I ran into a really interesting Classic Custom J 5 that I am considering pulling the trigger on but I am very specific about specs. Roscoes site doesn't really list the specs I'm more comfortable with. So far from what I've gathered the string spacing is 19mm at the bridge. Anyone happen to know what the nut width is? Both of these specs are most important to me above all. Please chime in if you can help. Thanks all!
I have to mention that I am not losing my mind, but I have placed both my Roscoes on the chopping block. I have swung more toward my Laklands and Vintage Fenders so I was not going to hold onto them.

Hi, I've heard of Roscoe but have never played one. Been playing Nash basses for 18 years. I'm certain the build quality and attention to detail are top notch but my question is, are these Roscoe Classic Customs on par or superior to Nash in terms of neck feel?
I'm looking for a 5 string and will never go back to a poly body bass...I love the nitro, the relic and the feel of a worn in, well played neck. In my search for a 5 string that fits my criteria, I stumbled upon Roscoe Classic Custom. Any feedback would be appreciated.
