It definitely has that traditional Roscoe look that became so familiar to me in my earlier years of playing Roscoes.
It’s kind of funny that after owning all of the crazy coffee table tops on various Roscoes, I end right back where I started (and loving it).
I hear you Steve. It really depends on what genre of music I'm playing as to how low I like the action.
I may raise it up a bit as I gig with it. The main challenge though was getting the bass to take that low action without fret buzz. I'd say that the Plek that it got at the shop was a good one because there is zero fret buzz anywhere on the neck (and with very little relief too). Amazing!
Just proof that sometimes the only thing keeping a Roscoe Custom from setting up to it's full potential is the proprietary Roscoe Hipshot Type A bridge!
I've got two that I'll sell cheap ........ And I'll just leave it at that.

Yes, and this is faster than the "Soon" response. Also, note that whenever delivery inquiry is made, it pushes delivery back another 2 weeks from the 2 week response.Typically it begins at the original promised delivery date. And then it continues in a 2 week cycle indefinitely until the bass actually ships.
Oh I know. I’ve only asked if he has gotten any deliveries from Bartolini lol. I have ceased all other contact. And I bought 3 other basses and a slew of pedals while I’ve waited to keep me occupied lol.
Seeing these makes me want to do a custom, just for the build pics. So awesome.

Does anyone know what that finish option on the maple bass at the top of the pic is? Seems to have just a touch of color added, so it looks a bit antique but not unnatural.
I believe that it’s just natural maple. The polyester finish tends to bring out a natural amber tint to maple.
My Century Standard 5 Plus Fretless may be up for sale. I bought something yesterday and I have a fairly solid bass in, bass out policy I try to follow. I haven't decided for sure, but as amazing as this bass is, I really don't play it much. My "jazz" gigs are P with flats lately. My tastes and gigs seem to have changed a bit over the last few years. Just tossing it out as you know me and I need to "run things up the pole" to see where I'm at.
Awesome looking bass. Too bad it is sans frets. Now we gotta know what you bought though….
Well, it wasn't a Roscoe. I and the band have been preferring the passive p bass sound lately. I have a Roscoe Classic P4 with flats that has been seeing a lot of play time. Its a fantastic bass and a gift from my wife so it's not going anywhere. Thing is, I could use a B string sometimes. I have a friend who was selling a 5 string P bass for a great price so I picked that up yesterday.
I've sold this fretless before and bought it back, but I think it was more nostalgia based than need. There is no better fretless than a Roscoe, and this one is as good as any. It just doesn't get in the rotation like it should and I don't see fretless being a big part of my plating future.

Love my LG's. Finally have one with Slanted Barts. This one took 8 months to build.
