I paid in full January 5th. He was in middle of moving shops so he didn't get started until February I think. He posted the body pic in February then nothing for three months. I called and he explained the situation. It's kind of the situation a lot of smaller business are in. Labor and supply issues.

So I’ve played the LG/3005 with the Roscoe Bart pickups and Bart 3-band for almost a week and decided that the Bart/Bart combo is indeed as dark as I remember.
No a bad thing but having had the Nordstrand 3-band pre (with A/P and passive tone control) in Blonde for a while I just can’t stay with the Bart preamp.
The Nordstrand preamps are hard to find these days and fortunately our good buddy (currently on a hiatus from TB) was nice enough to text me yesterday and turn me on to a source for one.

Sorry Bart/Bart lovers. Once you’ve heard the sound of a Roscoe with a Nord pre and Roscoe Bart p/u’s you just can’t get it out of your head!:bassist::hyper::bassist:

I still haven’t installed the one I have. I wish it wasn’t volume/volume…

I've sold this fretless before and bought it back, but I think it was more nostalgia based than need. There is no better fretless than a Roscoe, and this one is as good as any. It just doesn't get in the rotation like it should and I don't see fretless being a big part of my plating future.

I was wondering if you got the SKB “our good buddy” had listed on Reverb for a bit. It’s one of the best playing and sounding basses he’s ever owned ;)

Lol yep- as in, why would I leave the Bart/Bart?

There are certain things that put the universe in order. Snow on Christmas, sunshine on the beach, a Roscoe Bass with bartolini pickups and a bartolini preamp.

Oh yes. It’s more open sounding with Nord pre. But, it still has just the right amount of compression due to the Roscoe Bart pickups.
I do very little EQ’ing with any on board pre.
I actually use the passive tone control more than the EQ controls. Just a wonderful tone.

Oh but Matt, the Vol/Vol is part of the magic that I love. You can get more variation of blends between the Neck and Bridge pickups. To my ears the active blend controls go to quickly to the respective pickup.
Plus, with the stacked vol/vol knobs it’s easy to adjust the overall vol and adjusted blend by turn both knobs at the same time with your thumb and index fingers.

I do jest a lot, but I wish I had the $$ to get Keith to build me a bass that I could swap pickups and preamps in and out of.

But no matter what I play, I seem to keep going back to my mid 90s fretless LG3005 with the Roscoe Barts and the Bart preamp (though I do believe I enjoy the 3 band over the 2 band). I love my newer custom LG5 PJ, but for some reason or another nothing feels or sounds quite so darn good to me.

Soon enough I'll share a couple of clips, the band is really in full swing, we'll have a little friends and family YouTube video soon.

On fretless I totally get the Bart/Bart combination. Nothing better!!!
Incredible tone for fretless!
