My fretless has a mini toggle for each pickup. Pretty sweet.
I do jest a lot, but I wish I had the $$ to get Keith to build me a bass that I could swap pickups and preamps in and out of.
Hey I have an LG with slanted pickups…. Haven’t played it yet but I’m hoping to see it someday. It should come back with a set of slightly used Nordstrand pickups and Nordstrand preamp if anyone is interested. Hope that doesn’t get me suspended. ;^o
ThT LG will be sweet!
I hope so. I was hoping to be playing it in my band by now. But it’s ok, I bought a new Stingray 5 from Greg to cover my gig in the meantime lol.
We’ll see- may just require me trying it, but I think a blend knob is easier. And I don’t really use the tone knob on the basses I have with them. Different strokes for different folks though…Oh but Matt, the Vol/Vol is part of the magic that I love. You can get more variation of blends between the Neck and Bridge pickups. To my ears the active blend controls go to quickly to the respective pickup.
Plus, with the stacked vol/vol knobs it’s easy to adjust the overall vol and adjusted blend by turn both knobs at the same time with your thumb and index fingers.

The ultimate bypassOne things for sure, all preamps sound the same unopened in the box!![]()
On another note, don’t really see a lot of bubinga topped Roscoes, besides the recent run of waterfall ones. Pretty bass, not mine.

Dang, I was just looking at it on my phone (at work), didn't see that wenge layer sandwiched in there... even nicer than I thought...
I love the feel of a Wenge neck!Ed, here's a couple of pics that Keith took during my custom LG build of the wenge wedge neck, and some future necks in waiting.

Hey there fellow Roscoe lovers! A beat up 1990's Roscoe was my first really nice bass. Unfortunately back in 2005 it was stolen. After a few years of buying and selling everything from Dingwalls, to Benaventes, to Devons, to Spectors, etc... I found another 90s Roscoe with weird old EMG electronics and an old Schaller bridge. I got it for a great deal and had my buddy Justin from J. Kennedy Guitars put an East U-Retro preamp, a Hipshot Bridge and Ultralite tuners on it. It's been my number one bass now for about a decade.
Here's a pic before the upgrades and a more recent one of a part of my collection, including the upgraded Roscoe. Do I need to do anything else to get a number?
