amusingly, that bass was my first Roscoe (bought used), but I had nothing to do with swapping the neck

. I did swap the original Aguilar OBP-3 preamp for a Bartolini NTMB (with active/passive bypass, no tone knob) though. Loved the sound of that bass, nice growl and a teeny tiny neck (with a wenge fingerboard with a little sapwood by dusty frets

on the g string), but the small SKB doesn’t work well with my perpetual winter weight body

That bass has been through a few owners since me (it was on the of the best our old friend had ever played

), which always kind of surprised me, as I thought it was a great bass, just a bit of neck dive for me.

Both are absolutely gorgeous necks on your Century. Out of curiosity, do you know what happened to the old neck? Was it destroyed or maybe will be repurposed and refurbished for a new build?
I don’t know what happened to it, but I’m guessing it will be repurposed- there’s nothing wrong with it, but it was a little thick (around the time the bass was made, early 2015, there was a period where the necks were made a little more “traditional”, which isn’t what I expected when I got it (again used), so I had discussed with Keith carving it down (and replacing the fingerboard, which he was hesitant to do), but then he offered a new neck, and since I had (and still do) a surplus of ash body/maple fingerboard basses, I jumped at it. It took awhile, but they did an excellent job, you would never know it was a replacement.
The original ‘board had some outstanding figuring, and was in excellent shape still, so I’m sure it could be used for another bass. Somewhat ironically, I ordered an MTD recently with a birdseye fingerboard, and am hoping it is this quality.

One of these days I’ll figure out what I want
