I have nothing against Sadowsky basses. They are nice if that’s your thing, and they are many peoples thing.

So technically you traded a copy (Sadowsky Metro) of a copy (US Sadowsky) of a Fender for a Roscoe!?! Great trade!!!![]()
Well since Michael Pedulla retired and they are a closed shop, their service may be a little sub standardFretless Roscoes are amazing. Excellent design, quality, playability, and sound. Service and parts are readily available, if needed. My Roscoe experience is superior to Pedulla in every way. Will never go back to the latter brand.
What’d you get? Did you go through a dealer or direct?Closing in on a year for my order! Kind of surprised.

he quoted me 5 monthsOne year for a Roscoe new build? Yeah, Keiths wait time has increased a bit over the last year or so but typically he turns them out in 5-6 months now. Do you have some really special specs (scale length, pickups, preamp or string spacing ...) that is causing a bit longer wait?
I put a Sadowsky 18v preamp on my Roscoe SKB paired with Aguilar DCB pickups. I get the Roscoe build quality with the Sadowsky tone that I like and enjoy so much
Por que? The Sadowsky pre is 9v, and while you can wire it to use two batteries, Roger has said several times there's no audible difference or reason to do so.

I’ve thought about doing this. There is a hi mid clank that bothers me a bit though, so maybe the Sadowsky pre just isn’t for me.I put a Sadowsky 18v preamp on my Roscoe SKB paired with Aguilar DCB pickups. I get the Roscoe build quality with the Sadowsky tone that I like and enjoy so much
Roger says his preamps support 18 V and you have more headroom, the difference is noticeable. I own a will Lee five string and the output is fine but my Roscoe has a lot more headroom and output
Although 18 volts will not hurt the pre, there is nothing to be gained at 18 volts. Unlike an op-amp circuit, you will not gain any headroom.
I don't see how that is caused by the Sadowsky since it is a 2 band preamp and the mids are naturally scooped. Perhaps your bass needs a setup and or the neck is not straight?I’ve thought about doing this. There is a hi mid clank that bothers me a bit though, so maybe the Sadowsky pre just isn’t for me.
I don't like turning the volume past 75% and I like the higher output of the 18v and at the end of the day is about how the bass responds to my style of playing. My ears hear a difference, hey my bass my choice !!
