Roscoe Club

It sounds like you’re stating it's suppose to keep your plucking finger from going down too far between the strings.

I believe that’s what I’ve read from the proponents of the ramp such as Gary Willis and some others….

There’s been some posts about the use of ramps and like everything else here, there’s yeahs and nays over the idea.

I would imagine that it would be fine to use as a thumb rest if you find it useful for that purpose.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I go back and forth between the floating thumb band the movable anchor techniques when doing something with my thumb. But whatever works….:D

So am I misunderstanding the purpose of a ramp? I've had a couple and like them because I use it to anchor my thump and it allows to play in more physical locations between the bridge and neck (provide different sounds and string tensions).

Ken Smith says Ramps alter the sound of the bass.

I dreamed of an LG and owned a LG3000 for a while. Beautiful instrument but wouldn't take light gauge strings. Also the seated position on an LG is not that great. Thought I'd moved on from Roscoe at that point. Also found that 32 inch fits me best.

Then I see this; Roscoe LG 3005 Natural Roscoe LG 3005 Natural | Reverb

And again I'm trying to justify how the LG body and 35" scale would be ok.

I guess this is to say the LG is the most attractive bass out there, imo. Even if there are some ergonomic issues.

That is pretty bass!
I’ve never had any issues with playing the LG model. I have lately found that I prefer the more burpy sound of the bridge pickup on the models with the straight pickups though. The slanted pickups just seem to have less of that burpy tone.

I have/had issues with the LG playing seated, too.
But I found that when I put my car keys in my right pant pocket the bulkiness would prevent the body from facing awkwardly upward with the bass resting on my right thigh.
You may have something else to use to see if that works out for you. ;)

Can I borrow your car keys?

I've noticed nothing remarkable about playing my LG seated. It is perfectly comfortable for me. I just now compared my LG 5 and Century 5 and the LG is marginally more neck heavy than the Century. Nothing about either has given me negative thoughts about how they feel. They both play and sound wonderful. My LG has a slightly thinner neck than the Century but they are so close that they feel much the same.

Does anyone know what DE-TUNER will fit in a Roscoe Classic? 1/2? 3/8?

Just read your quest one more time and caught “Classic”. Missed that earlier. The info zI gave you was for the Custom or STD.
I deleted my former post. Sorry for the confusion.
I did find this post in the Roscoe Classic Club thread …. He states the BT-7 fits

Only Joe can keep up with Joe ;)

Finally decided to see what the Classic series is all about. Got this from the classifieds last week. Passive Lollars. All I can say is that I may be selling my Sadowsky NYC in the very near future.
Super impressed. Keith really knocked the design and build out of the park.

Congratulations! I keep eyeing the classics more and more. Must keep to the “one build at a time” rule though.
