That bass did indeed have active EMGs and a passive tone control with a Wilkinson bridge. The current owner is here on the forum and has since replaced the EMGs with Nordstrand Big Splits. Thus far he has resisted my soft pitch to buy it back (I’d buy it back in a heartbeat)

I’m looking hard at the LG fretless in the classifieds, but am hesitant because of the LG shape (for me the slight reach for 1st position because of the shorter upper horn) and lack of lines (a little security for pitch) is holding me back. The bass is beautiful, and a clean board certainly is a great look. I’m sure I’m a good enough player to not need lines, but when it’s not your main gigging bass, it makes a difference. The price is sure right.

But the Low B on a Rosecoe Fretless is insane....but you alreqady know that!

It is nice. And it has the jazz pups in the custom location which is awesome. I could “get by” but as was said, the B string on a Roscoe is so awesome, and I do use it at church quite a bit. I think I’d rather pay less for a 5 string and deal with the perceived stretch a blank board.

I am playing tomorrow 7:30-9:30 outside. Upright bass...and I hate taking an upright bass to this sort of gig. I have insect repellent and a good fan to take with me.

I've had it with Roscoe. I've posted here before that I ordered my third one two years ago paid $2000. He still hasn't built it, when he emailed a few times he said it should be a few weeks and still nothing I am done. I gave him every benefit of the doubt due to his Chapter 11. Such a shame I loved them but I am going dump my J Bass and P Bass. I've had 4 basses built during that time from Vintage Bluesman and Valentino. If anyone may be interested I will be selling them for a good price. They are both reliced.

1st I’ve heard of an issue. It’s always been positive. All of my experiences were positive. Do any of the Lads post here anymore? Hope that all gets worked out. Best of luck!

So sorry to hear this! Not sure why your bass build would be in the queue that long. The longest that I’ve ever waited for a new Roscoe build was 6 months.
I’ve never heard of anyone being ripped off by Roscoe though. That said, there must be some unique details to your build. Care to elaborate?

Hey, Perry. Several others here have experienced longer than usual waits. Knowing this is of little consolation, though. Don't know how you've been contacting the shop, but many have success calling by phone. Keith is also reachable from the Roscoe Instagram account. Maybe try those? Please keep us posted. (Also, the shop usually closes for a few days around July 4)

He didn't hesitate to reply to my emails when I was ordering it or making a payment ($2000 was paid down).

I’ve been quiet but he’s not the only one. Not waiting quite as long, order placed 8/20/21. I have at least seen the body. I’m still hanging in there.

He sent me an email stating that it had been sprayed and looked great, just a few more weeks. That was also in 2021. A year ago he told me it would be a few more weeks so I made a second $1000 payment to bring down the balance. Since then he has not responded to my e-mails and it's been radio silence. At least if he communicated with me then it wouldn't be so bad. But TWICE I've been told it would be a few weeks!
