That would be a nice Century for anyone! Very classy looking bass. Decent pricing too.
Another nice Roscoe for sale at a decent price.

Very tempting. For some reason that color on the body and the wenge neck/board just look so cool to me.Yeah! That one’s got a wenge neck and FB. Very cool!

Concur. I love that blue...Very tempting. For some reason that color on the body and the wenge neck/board just look so cool to me.
I have the perfect gift for my wife to show up when the bass does as well.
Maybe. I guess I don’t mind passive. I have an active 5 with my Century. One fret might be nice but honestly, I barely get past about 15 these days.Beautiful indeed... would be more tempting if it had active electronics and at least one (preferably 2-4) more frets.

So what does a wenge neck do to tone?

Punchy, slightly compressed tone with a focused midrange sound. Nice clear highs and bass too though.
If I had a nickel for every time Steve has posted this (or something similar), I'd have a LOT of nickelsI really don’t need another bass, but there’s something about the look and materials of that bass that really pique my interest.

I prefer passive Fender style basses (with P, JJ or PJ pickups) over active. IMO you lose the old school sound with active on Fender style basses. I love the variations of tone using the tone control (and various right techniques).
As for the need for 24 frets, I don't venture there much and if we do a tune that requires it I've got a couple other basses that I can use. Kind of like using the needed size wrench or socket from the tool kit.![]()
Yes, yes you would. If I had a nickel for every time Steve has posted this (or something similar), I'd have a LOT of nickels![]()
