Roscoe Club

So who bought the fretless 5 from a Guitar Center Chicago?

Is this a trick question? (I am implying Steve bought it, I did not buy it)

How is that sweet LG for $2K still on Reverb?

Apparently not...

Not a trick. Curious if anyone here grabbed the fretless. I was close but then I decided to go wireless for my cover band, which meant $475 for a Shure GLXD+ and $900 for a Sennheiser IEM system.

There was also talk about what a steal that waterfall Bubinga LG was so...

Steve's gonna' be up front, shakin' that thing... :D
Well, I don't know about that. We still have a pretty good looking female lead singer that garners most of the attention, but the guitar player and I occasionally "back to back" for things, and the singer and I do interact a little as well. We're working on stage presence. After 5-6 years, we're starting to do stuff.

Honestly, at the last gig I just go tired of always whipping my cable out of the way, and having it coil up every time I turn around, etc. Wireless isn't necessarily about getting out in the crowd. Sometimes it's about a nice clean stage. We have no amps or monitors so this helps with that.

I agree- I have the Shure GLXD16 (I'm not a fancy + guy like you ;)) and honestly it's just great for not having to worry about tripping over the cord for the little i do move around. And the tuner/mute is just icing on the cake.

Seriously?
You prioritized a wireless system over a Roscoe fretless?:banghead:

Have you never watched “Standing in the Shadow of Motown”? You’re a bass player Steve. You supposed to be somewhere in the shadows laying down the groove. Heard and not seen! You need a 3 ft. Cord (max) and 3 Roscoes (one strapped up and two in stands; one on your right and one on your left).
And trust me, everyone is going to be looking at your lead singer and guitar player. :D

I know no one is looking at me - unless I'm standing next to the singer or guitar player. The last gig was the last straw for cable tripping. Also had to pony up for some lighting upgrades for the band, another $300. So, all things considered, I’ll get more bang for my buck with wireless and lights. Fretless, while awesome, is not something that will get used on a regular basis. That’s why I sold both of them in the first place I suppose.

Sadly, just a wireless and some truss for lights is all that’s coming my way.
On the plus side, you probably won’t waffle and sell those in a year ;)

You inspired me to put my wireless back on my board for a possible band tryout tonight, and I’m glad I did. Even for just moving around the room a little, to shake hands and look at sheet music, it’s SO much easier…
