Well, if I get a vote I say we should have it at the USAF Museum. All of my favorite things would be in one place! Mmmm: airplanes, bass and bbq.

That would be nice Joel but I'm not sure that they have anything but really large expensive rooms. We actually had my youngest daughters wedding reception there at the "Century of Flight".
Dennis and I exchanged text's this morning and I think we have a new location off of I-75 new downtown Macon. It actually would make a tour of the Allman Brothers "Big House" quite possible if anyone was up for it. We might could even get to hold and play B.O.'s ole bass "The Tractor" is we connected to the right folks.

I should have something nailed down soon.

there is a 3 string on eBay (no affiliation). would like to know the story behind those. would be cool to own just because.

I think that Roscoe originally made one for Brad Houser. There use to be a bit of info on the former Roscoe Web site on it in the "What's New" section.
I'm sure that Gard can provide some detailed history. I remember some info on Hip Shot building the special bridge.

Nope, Brad Houser never had a 3 string. The first one went to Kim Stone, the second to a local guy (has a Buckeye Burl top, it's been floating around for sale on and off), and this one, which was made for the guy selling it in Wisconsin. That's it, just three of 'em. :)

Kim Stone! That's right. The dude from the Rippington's.Maybe I was thinking of Doggie Houser!

I guess that's why they pay you the big bucks!

Finally got the chance to hear my bass with the NJ5Fs (single-coils) in a full-band context. I can't say enough good things about these pickups. The bass just sounds massive and cuts through with amazing growl and punch, and the B string is even tighter and more focused. The best part is, there's no noise -- my repair guy shielded the pickup cavities and the underside of the pickups and ran new wires to ground. I was expecting a little bit of hum, but it's dead quiet, even when favoring one pickup or the other.

Hey gang! This may be a poor question for this forum, but I figured who would know better than you guys!
Am I asking too much for my bass?!
I don't think so. It's not the deal of the century so people aren't jumping at it and the fact that it seems money is tight these days. So, you might have to wait a while to sell it. I think it's a fair price for that bass.

Since you asked, I'm going to disagree with Freddels. While I think your Roscoe is worth every penny of what you are asking, it's about $300-$400 higher than what I'd be looking to pay based one what I've seen here on TB. If you're wanting it to sell, a drop to $2200 or $2300 would probably do it. Not saying it absolutely wouldn't sell where you've got it, but you asked.

And, FWIW, folks do their research - that bass appears to have sold for $2250 back in 2011 (http://www.talkbass.com/threads/gorgeous-roscoe-century-sig-5-fs.825248/).

I mean absolutely no disrespect, it's a beautiful bass. Roscoes should go for a LOT more than what they do.

+1

$2200-2300 is much more in line with todays market.
We all know that it's worth $2600, and we also know that a new one spec'd out like yours would be over $5K but players just aren't spending that in this market.

As TXLawDawg stated, TB'ers definitely do their homework (and search the for sale threads) and the average price for used Roscoe's (lately) is around $2100-2300.

Here's a fresh family pic. Please excuse the non-Roscoe basses in the pic.

They are after all part of the family. :)

Hey Joe - long time no chat. (Check your inbox)

Nice six string with the maple neck.

I hope to be able to make it to the GTG. After all the NOISE( i apologize for my contribution) from the last one I would like to bring an amp with headphones. That way someone could check out a bass in privacy without competing with other basses.

I bought it from Databass5 for $2600 and I believe I sold the bass to loganpass for $2600. It is an amazing bass and if I had the money I would buy it back as I regret letting it go. Honestly, I would offer $2500 shipped if I was in a position to buy it now.
