For a fretless, it's gotta be a Roscoe or a Zon. The tone, growl and MWAH are just unique.
Just did a swap in my Century five fretless. Replaced the Audere with a Bart. Really like that little bit of extra compression.

Nope, just "red". "Roscoe red" is darker around the edge, like a red stand with a red burst.

Yeah, I do, but this new format makes sharing one above my pay grade I'm afraid....can't figure out how to put a photo in a reply now.
In the Reply box, you click the 'Image' (sun over the mountains icon) like before and type in the URL, if it's an external image. Or, "upload a file" - it's right next to 'Post Reply.' Find your file and select it.
This probably presumes you're using the 'Retro' style -- I donno how stuff is laid out in the other styles as I don't like them and don't use them.

Hello guys, well I just acquired a Roscoe serial number #5930.
It is a lovely bass, tone wise and looks. Question any of my fellow roscoe owners have had any experience,
and know if a regular long scale elixir set would fit the roscoe with out being short?
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm using long scale Elixirs on my SKB-3005 currently. Though, it's close and the taper is just barely past the nut on a couple of the strings.

Gard is responsible for it turning out as nice as it is. I made a trip to the shop Thanksgiving 2011 to finalize this order. Gard let me pick out the top from 20-30 different pieces. When I had chosen 3 finalists, Gard explained to me that the pieces I had chosen would be too dark to show the highlights of the quilt. (I think he called them 'sausages' - like sausage links. Gard?) He pointed out that a lighter colored piece would work better with a darker stain like Cobalt Blue. I deferred to his judgement and picked this piece.

As much as it pains me to say it, you're right about Gard; he knows a great deal about bass woods, pickups and all the details associated with creating "your" ideal Roscoe.

It is difficult to say TOO many nice things about Gard, but I do have a bass being built so I need to be nice for a couple weeks.
