It works both ways, and the "signature" LG tone is the "regular" slant - but there are those have figured this out and tried it, and like it.

It's all useful and good in its own right - the difference is there, but SUBTLE. I would not NOT buy one based on the pickup slant (regular, "reverse", none). I personally am more of a J guy, specifically I really love the Bart 57J1's in my fretless; I also really dig the Aguilar AG-5M in my fretted, so the whole slant issue is kinda a "non-issue" for me. That said, I can hear a difference, but it is subtle - and I have no preference, they all sound great, but different, if you dig.

Too lazy to browse through 205 pages of Roscoe goodness... Is there a physical difference that can tell me quickly what pickups are installed in my Bass?
Bartolini will say so on the case; for the others, I'm not sure.
You want quickly ? Give Gard your serial number and he can probably tell you what was installed at the shop.

Read a(nother) disturbing account of MONO M80 case dye affecting upscale bass necks.
The latest incident was lacquer, which I'm pretty sure Roscoe doesn't use.
I know there are a bunch of finishes available but - for instance - in a 300x-series SKB - what's the neck finish?
I believed it was catalyzed polyurethane - yes? no?
Any tales in the wild of MONO dye affecting a Roscoe neck?
I'm looking at dropping something like $400 on a Mono-double with a Tick - and I'd be Ticked-off if something happened to not one but two Roscoes...

I have my Century 5 Signature sitting in a Mono Veritgo right now.
No issues at all...or with any of my basses for that matter. Lulls, Sadowsky, EBMM, vintage Stingray, AVRI Fender.

Really? I thought the slant came before Jimmy, but the reverse slant came from Jimmy due to him playing with the strings inverted.
