It has been a few years since I last owned a Roscoe but I am glad to say that I have just picked up a very interesting LG 4 stringer. I would be very grateful if any of you have any background on it and if Gard might be able comment on what the fingerboard is made from... it looks a little bit like ebony to me.
Anyway it sounds killer and is just about the faster playing 4 that I have ever played!

Interesting indeed!

It's an early 90's LG 2000 (flat tops were 200x, carved tops were 300x), very nice quilt maple top and mahogany body. The fingerboard is most likely Brazilian rosewood, but it's not really possible to tell from these photos. Further guesswork by Keith and myself come up with a Bartolini 2-band preamp, the switch is either a volume boost (if it's a 2-way switch) or midrange boost (if it's a 3-way switch).

Good to see it has a good home! :)

Nice looking Roscoe, on my monitor is looks like it has a grain pattern. Could it be a stained Mac Ebony?

Thanks Gard, the pre switch seems to have a low mid boost when forward, flat in the centre and low mid boost to the rear, does that seem right?
The fretboard is interesting because it has little/very fine grain and is very dark, it is a nice piece of wood regardless.
Digging the pointy headstock, reminds of the Jackson days...
