Roscoe Club

turns out the country band I'm joining really prefers that I play upright to electric.
they play around 100 gigs a year, so I'm going to be playing my upright a lot more and won't need a dedicated country bass (which this was going to be).
therefore, this one is back on the market.

For Sale - Roscoe SKB Standard 5 Plus

Great looking bass, almost traded/bought it from the original owner before I got my other LG-3005. This bass will make someone happy.

My wife was really cool about getting a Custom Classic. I was at the Roscoe shop when I found out the guys were working on a jazz design. I have been telling my wife for about 10 years, if Roscoe ever makes a jazz bass I am getting one. I came home from the shop that day and said to my wife, "guess what?" (with a big grin on my face), Roscoe is going to build a jazz bass. She just shook her head and said ok. She didn't say the normal, which bass are you going to sell, she just said ok.

And the proper response to that is; "But all the other guys are getting one". Just try it, she'll love you.....

Mark

Not sure about that. She's great and all but...

Well, my response is always to bore her with P/U talk and how they sound different until I put her to sleep or she says blah, blah, blah bass talk.

Unfortunately she knows to much. She goes to concerts and tells me what DI guys are using.

I hate to be that guy, but Steve you've been wanting a passive 4 for some time. Sell the sixer and get a Roscoe Classic

Thought crossed my mind. But the 6 just came back and I gave her the "sentimental reasons" excuse for buying it a 3rd time.

Not how I planned things to go, but I ended up with a fantastic Century Sig 6 in a trade. I can't complain! It's an absolutely beautiful bass with an amazing solid figured walnut body, and equally awesome woods elsewhere to compliment it.

I really like my 6 string right now. It sounds great, but isn't the best (number of strings) for everything coming up. I'll probably get by with my 5

Gonna try the 5 with flats at church on Sunday.

What's the electronics setup on the PJ? Selector switch for P, J and both? Volume, stacked bass/treble and separate mid? What about the other switch?

Well I finally made it to Bass Central this week while I was at Disney with the family. I got to play some really nice basses (a couple Roscoes, MTD 635 and a Pedulla Penta Buzz). Much smaller place than I envisioned but they had some really nice basses.

The really good news. I didn't leave with any new GAS! Just a Zon gig bag ........:)
