I didn't know there were so may famous bass players on this thread. A "Ramona" and 2 with "No Treble" spotlights. I feel honored to be reading your posts. I wish I could make it to one of you GTGs but just to darn far away.

Hardly famous...even in my own town.
Nothing better than a Roscoe 5 string. THE finest 5 string bass made.

It’s been hard to keep track. It is indeed gone again. I love everything about that bass - except the C string. Try as I may, I just didn’t use it. The jazz group that could have made use of it is no longer and will not be. There just aren’t venues/demand for that genre around here.
My Century Plus 5 is going nowhere. It’s basically my one and only. It does everything I need and plays itself. I’m happy. Going to get a new Genzler amp and someday down the road I still see a Classic in my future.
You could always get a looper pedal and use the 6 string to lay down a chord track and then solo over the changes.
Hey, slow your roll there. Half of my Roscoes were once Steve's (his old fretless century plus 5 and fretted century plus 6 hang next to my fretted century signature 5 and fretted skb standard plus). Since I've gotten my first Roscoe, I've bought a few other basses, but had to sell them as nothing compares to how well a Roscoe fits me and my style.
Funny gig story of the week: played an outdoor wedding gig last Saturday night (it got down to about 45 degees by 11:30pm), but I think I had a short bass solo at some point, IIRC.

You have 2 of the best Roscoes ever made - IMHO. My fretted Century 5 may be the best.

Note to self: Must get a supply of Roscoe hats from Gard before the next GTG. Too much glare off the top of some of those heads...............
