Good hang with the middle Georgia crew! No shortage of excellent basses or players. Everyone loved the headless.

Go back a few pages in this thread because we just had a discussion on this. My recollection is that preamp is one nobody likes a little. It's a love or hate thing, so it's going to come down to what you like.Thinking about pulling a trigger on a Roscoe Stabdard plus with Aguilar DC pickups and OBp-3 preamp. Does anyone of you guys have any sound clips of this combo in a Roscoe?
Best in the business. How are the B strings on these basses?
I did that twice and have no regrets. They're the only two EBG's I own and I'm not looking at others.Unfortunately will have to buy sight unseen so I value your opinions.

Actually the only times that I've liked the Aggie OPB-3 preamp on a Roscoe was when the bass had Aguilar or Nord pickups. It seems to match up well with those pickups (of course I guess it should with Aguilar P/U's).
@campbems - If you like the sound of the Warrior low B, you'll be totally knocked out by the sound of the Roscoe low B. as ArtechnikA stated, "Best in the business".
On the sound clips of that combo, as SteveC stated, check out Rocketmusic.net. Greg probably has some sound clips of a Roscoe with that combo.
Try it, you'll love it!!!
And for the record, I played 3 Fodera's at the GTG this weekend. Only one of those basses played and sounded as a good as a Roscoe. It was actually the first time that I've played a Fodera that was up to the standard of some of the better Roscoe's that I've I've played. Of course, IMO ..........![]()
So, from the GTG, which one of those bass combos or rigs sounded the best?
I just sold my old Genz Benz min stack and am needing a new amp.
The Magellan 800/BA12-3 is on top of my list, but the Bergantino B|Amp/HDN112 is also a contender.
No doubt the B|Amp has features galore. But do I NEED them? The Magellan is more straight forward. The Genzler is significantly less expensive. I've heard a Roscoe with both and people like both so I don't know what to do. I don't have money to burn, but want an amp I'll love.
I have thought that my new head could maybe replace most my pedal board (tuner, compressor, drive) and maybe give me a better IEM sound as well as FOH, although no one is complaining with my Roscoe to a JDI to the house.
Thoughts anyone?

As a B|Amp owner, I can say that, not only does it sound amazing, but I get regular firmware updates from Bergantino, which I load into the amp using a USB drive. They have added a great compressor, two different distortion effects, and the new stuff just keeps coming. Being digital, they can just keep updating features to add effects and improve existing ones.
Indeed, this may be overkill for some folks, in which case I recommend taking a look at the new Berg Forte, which is a stripped-down version of the B|Amp at a lower price.
Thanks! I have to go with the lighter weight Class D heads.
