Another Roscoe joins my family!

My favorite wood combination, swamp ash body and maple fretboard. I love the clean look of this bass.

FYI, my SKB 3005 is for sale in the classified section. For Sale - Roscoe SKB 3005 Custom 5 String Bass

Killer deal on a Roscoe Custom! I really like the look of the box elder burl too. If I was in the market for another Roscoe 5 I'd snatch that one up in heartbeat!
Keith recommended that top (box elder burl) for my 3rd Roscoe (2nd custom build) and it turned out really nice. It was a fretless.

I could be wrong but I think JOME77 posted that picture of his bass in reference to the box elder Roscoe that is actually currently in the classifieds. His is box elder too.

Yep. That one was sold a long time ago...........

But the Box Elder Burl Fretted (below) is for sale now and is a killer deal!
And for what it's worth, the box elder burl tops are hard to photograph. They typically look much better in person.

I'm eyeing that one. I could use a Roscoe... at least that's what I tell myself every time I buy one... and then realize I don't get on with their 35" scale feel. I've gone through 6 Roscoes to date. Darn. There was a 34" Roscoe a while back in the classifieds and I missed the opportunity. Anybody have a 34" scale they'd like to sell me? I put my Ken Smith Black Tiger in the classifieds. :D

Question for Roscoe heads in the know. I’m looking at a couple different used Roscoes, one being a Nordstrand DC pickups and pre and the being a Aguilar DCB and OBP-3 pre. What are the Roscoes like with each pickups? I’m leaning towards the Nordstrand over the other mainly because if price and my owning past basses with the Nordie DC pups and really liking them. How are he Roscoe and nordy electronics?

I know alot of people talk that 35' scale instruments make it hard on them but I just don't get it. I've owned several 34' and 35' and honestly couldn't tell any difference. I play all over the neck and just don't feel the difference. I guess I'm blessed at that. Now string spacing is another animal as I've owned several 19mm and 16.5mm at same time and switching back and forth messes with me a little.

So... How come the Classic models aren't on the website yet? There's a splash page mention, but nothing under "basses" or "options". I think I need to make that my next bass purchase. This would be the first bass I've bought new in a looong time. Unless somebody wants to sell me their PJ5...

Roscoe (and most custom instrument makers) have always been slow to update their websites. I guess that would be due to not having a full time web designer on staff.
Of course there's plenty of info and pic's on this thread and the Roscoe dealers are always happy to send you pics and answer any specific questions you have.
I've yet to play a Classic model (none visited our yearly GTG) but I have heard that Atalanta Bass Gallery has a 4 string in stock. Maybe I can take a trek up there during the Christmas holidays to check one out in person. Of course I'm really enjoying my Fender American Pro 5 Jazz. :)
