Roscoe Club

I just don't get the hang better part or the reach. I played regularly both my Century and SKB and I couldn't tell any difference in either as far as reaching the 1st few frets and I'm average height and reach i guess. Both hung that exact same I felt.

Same here Shane. And I’m a fairly sensitive guy. I like chick flicks and even cried when ole Yellow died!
Oh well. I guess it’s a good thing that Roscoe came out with the Century model in 2000. It apparently just works better for some.
The good thing is the rest of us can buy up all the nice used SKB and LG’s while the Century only lovers wait on a used Century to come along!

Signature or Custom, that’s one awesome looking bass! Welcome to Roscoe!
Doesn’t this neck look more like a Signature though? Also the matching inlay? Manager who bought it new said he had a few upgrades. Could this be one?

I returned the LG, body too small. I did just buy an SKB Signature 3005 wow, this one fits lol.
Let me say though I love the looks of the LG, I love original stylings that are unique to the Luthier. It literally is how the top part of the body where my forearm comes over, it was too low causing my wrist to b nd more. This caused me to lower the bass further down than I like playing it. Plus I really dig the dual coil Bart’s in the SKB position. It’s such a unique tone

Besides the number of laminates, it's their thickness and the center laminate is shaped like a wedge (thin at the headstock and thick by the body. View attachment 2930052
Wow that’s awesome looking I’ve never seen something so unique. Yea these basses are awesome. Their uniqueness and playability 18.5 ? String spacing is perfect for me. 19 was too much

What’s the biggest difference between the custom and signature besides the number of laminates in the neck?

Looks like it's been pretty much covered now.
I will add that the Signature also has the pearl "R" on the head stock and the neck volute under the nut area.

Although a one or two Signatures were made with a top wood laminate on the backside of the head stock (as well as the top side) when Keith ran out of pearl material for the "R".

LOL

TB is definitely a great place to get bass related answers. A lot of the long term Roscoeheads have moved on (or just don't frequent the site anymore). When Roscoe had their own forum we had a really great following and everyone contributed to each others knowledge (of both Roscoe's and bass in general).
Still lot's of very knowledgeable Roscoeheads here though. Always nice when Pacman, Crashclint and Rocketmusic chime in. Maybe Gard will get back up and running soon. Definitely miss his knowledge and humor ........
