Lol...I know you guys don’t want to hear this, but to me either Devon is better than any of the 4 Roscoes I had. Definitley more versatile with active passive, passive tone control, and Coil tap switches for both. I love Roscoes as good as anything I’ve played but Devon’s are extremely good basses.

I've only been able to play smaller bodies, such as Roscoe, Pedulla, and Warwick. Big bodies like Ken Smith, Fender Jazz, and Fender Precision all dig into the lower portion of my right rib cage, causing great discomfort and pain. I love their sounds but hate their ergonomics for my physiology. I will never play a bass that doesn't fit me. It looks like Devon likely falls into that large body category for me, and I'm in no hurry to try one.

I am fully satisfied with my Roscoe experience, equally enjoying ergonomics of Century, LG, and SKB. Playability of each style is great. Sound is fabulous. Customer service is excellent. I have no reason or desire to try anything else. Instead, I am focusing on improving my musicianship and performance.

Was speaking with Keith this week about a new build I have on order and it looks like it will be ready in about a month! Can't wait to get it!

Here are the specs:
Roscoe LG Custom 5:

- LG 5 string (B-G)
- Swamp ash body (one piece, lightweight)
- No Top
- Oil Finish
- Natural Finish
- Slanted Pick Ups
- Bart pickups & pre
- Black hardware
- 33" scale
- 1.75" nut
- Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck
- Purpleheart w/Sapwood fingerboard
- Dunlop flush mount recessed straplocks

I tried one before and loved it. I wanted something that was compact and easy to play, i felt that the 35" had a long reach to the 1st fret for me. I gig full time with my band so I wanted something that was comfortable as I'd be gigging 3, 4, 5 nights a week. I probably could've got a Century with 34" and it would have felt fine but I like the LG body shape the best. I played a 33" roscoe before and it still had a great B string, even better than my old Lakland and that was 35"!

No it won't be string through body at all, although I might ask Keith about that tomorrow.

A good friend of mine (TB'er J2KBass) built a 30" scale LG Roscoe a few years ago and loves it! I was shocked at how good the B string sounded. He went with the short scale due to hand issues and it's worked our great! Maybe Keith will chime in. I think that you'll be really happy with the build.
Roscoe's work in any scale!:)

I think the Century body makes a difference. I know it's a small thing but the "hang" of the Century compared to the SKB and LG is noticable to me. I started with an SKB and loved it but I felt I was reaching for first fret. With the Century I don't have that feeling.

I've never owned an LG. My fretless 6 is a Century and my fretted 6 is an SKB. I honestly feel very comfortable with all thee of my Roscoe basses. The Century 5 is the only one that I took time bonding with and that is because of the 19mm string spacing. I like the 18.3 better but finally did adjust to 19mm and I am happy I did because that is a killer bass.
