Just think, you could mute the E & A strings with your thumb on this 4 stringer.

It’s official. I’m totally in love with flat wound strings on my Roscoe JB bass! I just love the tone playing over some classic rock songs (everything from Eagles to Steely Dan.) And they feel so good! That alone is reason enough to have 2 fretted Roscoe’s! 
I’ll trade you a Roscoe Century STD JB and a decent looking hat for that P/J model!

Well I've got a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound strings coming. I'm going to install them on my fretted JB bass and see how close I can come to an old school P-bass tone. I'm also considering taking a piece of one my older Roscoe t-shirts to mute the strings at the bridge ........ I'd use an old white t-shirt but since it has black hardware I'm thinking black would look better.
