Roscoe Club

Okay if Roscoeans have this pain from loss then perhaps we should just pretend to sell and pretend to buy. Perhaps since we are so trustworthy we should pawnishly exchange bass for money with a return plan built in out of respect for each player and the Grand Keith.

Fantasy I know because the new holder will fall in love and the plan will cause more pain.....

I’m sorry y’all. I tried.

And I thought that I was the only one with that problem ......:D

Hey, she's got her designer pocket books and shoes and I've got my basses!:)

Yeah, I tried that argument one time. Take my advice and keep it to yourself because it leads to all kinds of other topics (tools, motorcycles, guns, antique trucks, etc.). Go figure.............

Oh, and pay close attention. Make sure she actually did say "stand-up" before you get out of your chair (trust me on this one) !

I have a question for you fretless Rosconians, Ive never messed with effects, i always go direct & love a clean tone. Was contemplating maybe a nice chorus pedal or something for the fretless. Price isnt a problem.. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
Get really comfortable with the fretless before tinkering with effects. Anything that can mask your intonation can persuade you you're playing better than you are...
In one respect, a fretless is just a bass, so it will respond to effects like any other. But you may decide you like the sound just like it is. I almost always play with just a little DarkGlass VMT tubey drive, but that's mostly because I keep amp settings pretty clean. Lots of fretless guys like a bit of chorus, so that's a decent place to start. I have an AnalogMan chorus but I rarely use it; it's fun but it doesn't fit what I'm playing most of the time.

Good advice.. i do need to see how my intonation is :)
Im confident it will be a fun new path of expression! A friend lent me a Cello recently, while it confirmed that Cello isnt my thing, it inspired me to get a fretless bass. :)

+1 one the advice above but I in some cases I do like some compression and reverb. The compressor really works well when recording. I have extremely low action on my fretless and the compressor helps even out my playing.
IMO Chorus masks my ability to add vibrato with my hands (and keep it effective). Just experiment with the various effects ......... You'll figure out what you like.:)

One things for sure, fretless is better with a Roscoe (or Zon)!;)

The Julia Chorus/Vibrato by Walrus Audio works really well with my LG fretless. It's a favorite after trying so many before - low end is tight, transparent enough to know it's your bass & the modulation is useful throughout the range. Recommended!

Hey guys, I have a Roscoe LG3000 that I'm thinking about trading/selling. The body size is a little small for me (I prefer the big bodies of Fender, Music Man, and the like), and I really prefer five strings. I'm not 100% ready to put it up for sale/trade yet, but I thought I would let you guys know first.

Here are the stats from Rik:

LG-3000 model custom
Flame Maple top, Spanish cedar body
Amber finish
Bartolini custom P4 pickups with 3-way 18v active eq system
Wedge constructed neck
Ebony fingerboard
Black hardware
Original list price: $3000.00
Build completed 11/2005

Does anyone know who Gard was recommending to do inlay work on Roscoe necks? If there is a capable luthier in Utah I'm not aware of him/her, nor is my brother in law who is a long time guitar tech (currently on tour with Shania Twain).

PM is fine
