Roscoe Club

Question for Roscoe owners... will he custom Roscoe Quad Bart’s work on 19mm spacing?
I can't say 100%, but nearly certain that they did not change anything on the pickups when speccing optional 19 or 20 mm spacing. The Roscoe Barts are quad coils with blade style poles - only 1 small break in the poles between strings, so spacing is not much of an issue unless you were going really extreme.

I'd say yes too. They used the standard Roscoe Quad Coil Barts in most of those 19mm 5 & 6 string basses and I've never heard of any issues.

Just got Roscoe #3 for my stable...
A beautiful lg 3005 (courtesy of Tb once again!) It was given a tune up in jan 2018 @ Roscoe shop- plekked, updated bridge, set up by Keith. While im a devout Bart guy, im absolutely loving the Aguilar Dcb’s/obp-3 combo. In same ballpark as the Bart’s, but a little different flavor. Sounds phenomenal!

Thanks brother! I don’t think i’ll ever attain @Jome77’s record- he’s reached the “Roscoe un-obtamium” number, he’s a Roscoe boss!
Edit: maybe he’ll “make me an offer I can’t refuse” *in my best Brando voice*

Man Arthur!
You’re my new hero! That’s a beautiful LG that you snagged. You’ve got quite a diverse stable of Roscoe’s now! I’ve yet to hear the Aguilar SB’s. Post some clips when you get a chance.

Thanks Joe! I plan on using it this Sunday, so far im extremely impressed, (practicing @ home through my Wayne Jones rig)
All the former descriptions (with Aguilar Dcb’s being more aggressive than barts, are true)
Really just another palette of awesomeness, Looking forward to hearing it in the band mix!

I almost bought one of these when it came up for sale. There are a few tunes I can think of where this bass would be all I needed.
This is one of 3 Roscoe basses for me over the years and the keeper. Sometimes I wish it was a 4 string not just because of the strings available but the neck. Super skinny by usual 4 strings. I think it would make an incredible 4 string neck. It does make me use the noodle sometimes especially lead lines. The sound is all Roscoe so anywhere you could use one of the those this will hold it down exactly like you are expecting or used to. It will have you looking for notes. A journey if you will :D

I just had a crazy thought , not that I will go through with it but , do you guys think I can squeeze a tuner in here and convert to a 4 banger ?

I wouldn't. Those are quite rare and special. There's no lack of 4-string Roscoes.

Totally agree that there are plenty of 4 bangers out there ..... but, if you really like the feel of the neck ....... You could add an additional tuner above or below but it wouldn't have straight pull to the nut. New nut, new bridge (maybe a custom spacing req'd). Still, it would work.
I also suspect that Keith could be talked into plugging the current tuner hole on the treble side, installing a new head stock cap and drilling 2 new holes on the treble side. Probably wouldn't be cheap though.

Come to think of it ....... Yeah what he said ......

Question for the fretless folks... How high do you guys set it at for maximum mwah? I still reference the old Roscoe Set-Up thread from the old sponsored forum when I set up my fretted Roscoes, but I don't recall any info on setting up a fretless.
Thanks for your input all.

Oh, one more thing, maybe I missed it, but have you guys seen any photos of that Roscoe build that a member was having issues with regarding delays? Curious to hear what his opinions are of the bass.

Thanks!
