Don’t know why Classic has to be heavy! Does a heavy bass sound classic just from the weight of it?

Agreed. Sorry to hear that...I reweighed the Roscoe Classic PJ5 after playing it several times. No weigh (you see what I did there) was it 9.27lbs. Yup, closer to 11.5/12 lbs. Easier to figure out when most of your basses are 7/8 lbs.
Do any TB'ers know the story on this LG 3006? For quite awhile, this has shown up on the GC site multiple times, only to be sold and reappear at a different location. It looks like people are requesting it being brought to their location and they are either refusing or returning it. Generally not a good sign. Just wondering what a buyer might be getting into.
Well, that is what swayed me to a Lull. The weight and the Classic look. Oh, well. Sounds great and I will Test it out live at church tomorrow through the avioms.Don’t know why Classic has to be heavy! Does a heavy bass sound classic just from the weight of it?
Why anyone would move from D'Addario EXL170 to another string brand, except for maybe Curt Mangan, I just don't understand!
Doesn’t surprise me.... that you don’t understand!![]()

.... NOW! Stop looking for (string) love in all the wrong places!!!Pretty tough to beat Lakland and Roscoe. If I didn’t play Roscoe I’d for sure have Lakland.View attachment 3350763 Current bass family.
Yeah, when I was “unhappy” with my sound and thinking dumb thoughts I went back to the beginning and put “stock” EXL170’s on and I was happy again. Why anyone would move from D'Addario EXL170 to another string brand, except for maybe Curt Mangan, I just don't understand!

Yeah ........ After experimenting (AGAIN) with everything out there I ripped 'em all off and put on a new set of D'Addarios XL Nickel RW's on both my fretted basses. I guess that I didn't play them for 25 years for no reason.
I'm going to buy an inexpensive Fender style P-bass and install flats.

Played all 3 services with the Roscoe Classic and had no problems and sounded great. The weight was not too bad since I have a gel strap and a Mono strap that distribute weight nicely.
How's the back/shoulder on the day after 3 services playing that 11 pound Roscoe Classic? I assume you were standing while playing. How does the weight influence the tone?
