Roscoe Club

Alright, here's a quick and dirty clip. I mean really quick and dirty but you can get an idea of the bass at least :hiding:

The sounds in order are:
1. Pickup in parallel, bass and treble around 50% ("flat")
2. Pickup in parallel, bass and treble around 90%
3. Pickup in series, bass and treble around 25-30%

I will try to work on something that shows more of the tones, and hopefully some better playing :p

Thanks for the clips. I like the tone coming from that set up. IMO - a very different roscoe flavor, in a good way.

Also - I really dig Jamiroquai. They have some great bass lines.

Saw the bike helmet. Do you ride road or mountain? or both?

I used to race. But I still love cycling.

Nice. I do pretty much all road myself. Might be vacationing to Toronto this summer. Good riding around there?
Best to drive just outside the city to get away from traffic and onto nicer roads, but yes after that it's great riding in pretty much all directions. Let me know if/when you're coming and where you're staying and I'll give you some suggestions.

I've always wanted to try that type of Pedulla. But my new roscoe is staying with me UNTIL MY DEATH.

In fact ( Gard ) I'm budgeting for a duplicate. And after the duplicate- 1 more with a birds eye maple fret board and holly top. But they will all be 30 inch with 16.5mm spacing. That is if you guys will still do that.

Then I'm retired.

Does Roscoe basses do that? 30 scale and 16.5 spacing? And a Holly top?

Since this is the center of the Roscoe Universe I figure someone here will know...

Loving the new (to me) SBK 3006.
Thinking of trying a Hipshot Xtender (deTuner) or two.
Trying to picture just how much room there is between the tuners - I think maybe only B & C are contenders. Has anyone tried mounting them on 2-4 and did they fit?

And which ones do I need, of the many flavors? I'm thinking the HE6Y-3/8"...

Thanks in advance!

It could be either the HE6Y-3/8" or the GB7, depending on the tuner you have on your bass - both 3/8" post diameter though. As for how many will work, I don't think you can get them to function correctly aside from the B and C strings, but you could always get one and experiment to see what works.

Cool - thanks.
How would I know? If I post a picture and send you the serial number would you be able to tell me? I didn't see any obvious markings on the tuners... New to these details, I'm afraid...

It's pretty simple: if they're closed-gear tuners, they're the GB7 (Gotoh) tuners, if they're open gear and marked "Hipshot" they're the HB6Y tuners (i.e. Hipshot Ultralight). For the GB7 tuners, use the GB7 detuner, for the HB6Y tuners use the HE6Y detuner.

:)

Just found pics of Jimmy's new bass on the facebook page...interesting. Looks like a combination of his MTD and Roscoe...as a Roscoe of course. Wenge neck....is that a mahogany body? Aguilar pickups....beautiful looking bass, that's for sure. Looking forward to hearing him play it.

You beat me to it! :)

Yup, he really loved a bass he'd had before that was a walnut/mahogany body with an all-wenge neck, so we did a "Roscoe" version of it for him. Really looking forward to hearing what he does with it!
