5 minutes before I fell completely in love with a P bass, that's what that is! I didn't think it would happen, but I'm *all* about this one! Let's see.... P-bass? Check. JJ? Check. MM? Check. Yeah, I'd say the "working man's toolkit" is covered. Thanks Keith, Tony, Gard and crew!

Sounds like a killer setup. The others sound so good in your hands I'm eager to hear what you do with this one too.

Here are mine. Not the best pics or pic taker, all Custom models.

1) SKB 5, Maple top & back, Swamp Ash body, Pau Ferro fb, purpleheart center neck lamination, natural gloss finish, Bartolini pre & Bart/Roscoe pu
2) SKB 5, Koa front & back (belly cut), Spanish Cedar body, Wenge fb & center neck lamination, Koa inlay, Wenge shim, Bartolini pre & Bartolini Classic pu, oil finish
3) Century 5, Maple top, Mahogany body, Purpleheart w/sapwood fb and wood inlay (contrasting), purpleheart center neck lamination, natural gloss finish, gold/black hardware, Aguilar pre & 3JJ pu's

My fave? Hard to pick one, but I have always liked the sound, look and feel of my first Roscoe the best: SKB Maple top & back with Roscoe/Bartolini all the way around.

LOL That sounded like a definitely NO Ryan!

Same answer here too!:)

Yeah, I can't see myself getting rid of any of mine, unless some sort of emergency arose.

Yeah. I heard the "no". :)
I used to own a LG and SKB... sold them both. Shouldn't have. I miss them. Of course I'd really miss the Pedulla but GAS is terrible.

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY dig Pedulla Thunderbasses. But I am honestly so damn happy with my Roscoes that I don't think there is really a bass out there I would trade one for.

Bass looks great, Jon. VERY interested to hear how this one sounds!

I need a little help/advice.

I've been playing my shorty roscoe as much as possible and after Thursday's gig I noticed something I've never experienced with any bass before. I took it out of the mono case and noticed a SMELL. It actually smelled like fish oil? I have no idea how this happened. The only thing I ,regretfully, did different was eat a hot dog between sets and didn't get a chance to wash my hands. How that could make it smell like fish, I don't know?

The smell appears to also be in the mono case, Specifically at the neck padding. And the smell on the bass is only on the neck, where the padding in the case is. I am, normally, very particular about making sure my hands are clean before picking up the bass.

Anyone ever had a smell on their bass or bag? Does wenge in the neck make it more apt to absorb?

I also don't sweat while playing. Just not sure.

Also - the smell is not terrible but definitely not preferred. No one else would notice it, but nobody wants their bass to smell..

I would appreciate any advice available. Also - feel free to crack jokes as I'm sure it would be easy.

Ok since you asked and said it's ok to fire way.

Try eating some fresh fruit?? Maybe ones that have more acid to cut the fish stank away. Then when the smell is gone wash hands every time.:hiding:

Not sure how the smell came about but I'm sure I would not like it a bit.

Maybe a little febreeze in the case might help.

Good Luck!
