TB is a terrible influence. Very bad. Makes you do crazy things. I don’t know how many times I thought about selling my Koa Century 5 for some dumb reason. Thankfully my wife won’t let me sell it.

I’ve been blessed to own some very nice basses but these 2 keep me grinning...
I’m glad my buddy sent me a deposit to take over the Buckeye Roscoe build before I seen pictures lol. I don’t know if I could have done it if I’d seen the pics beforehand. This will definitely be one amazing looking Roscoe.
It's nice but the Tiger top looks better to my eyes. But then again, I'm not a huge buckeye burl fan ........ and that one looks a bit washed out.
It amazes me how different buckeye burl can look from piece to piece – some very dark, some very light colored. I tend to favor the lighter colored samples with simpler patterns.
While I've yet to see a bad looking Roscoe I'd much prefer either of the tops on your current Roscoes.
I’ll make my final decision after it’s got the clearcoat on it- the finish really brings out details in wood.
FINALLY got this bass back after getting a new Bart 3 band pre installed and getting the jack replaced (so it takes right angle plugs). Put some new NYXL’s on and it sounds great. Maybe I’ll head out to the blues jam tonight and give her a spin...

I’ve always loved that bass. Wondering how much and what difference the Bart preamp made over the Aguilar?
Question for those who might know the difference. My Devons have a poly finish that shows more fingerprints than any gloss finish bass I’ve owned. Both my Roscoes also have a gloss finish but done show any finger prints. What would make the difference? Even my Blue Roscoe doesn’t show finger prints. My Devons show them terribly for some reason.
Not sure if it's still true but I think Keith uses a finish called Diamond Coat. And you are correct, if doesn't smudge up as bad as most finishes.
I've also never found anything that can remove it (other than sanding it off).
Well, this was actually the second Bart pre I had installed in it- somehow I shorted out the first one. Must be all those hot licks of mine
I did end up going to the jam, but it was an odd night there and I was playing through a combo amp that I wasn’t familiar with and couldn’t hear it anyways, so no real world experience this time. From what I remember, like @JOME77 said, I find the Bart pre gets more growl. I’m not a fan of the Aguilar preamps (but I like most of their other stuff)- IMHO they are too hot and color the tone. But ymmv- lots of builders use them, so it may be just me. I think the Bart pre is pretty neutral and lets the pickups and bass shine through, plus I’ve had a lot of experience with it (I have/had it in several other basses) and other than the one shorting out, I’ve been happy with it. Plus it has the trim pot on it to adjust the output gain, and I love having active/passive switches and not having to adjust the amp much when I use it

Love my Roscoes through Aguilar gear. I think the 2x12SL slams. I’ve got a single SL12 on top and both the Tone Hammer 700 and AG 700 they all sound great

Nice rig! Have you played through the 10s as well? What is your take on the difference between the two?
The Roscoe is in a backup role today for the jazz trio at Farmers Market.
I’m excited to play this beauty tomorrow. Excuse the tarp in the background as we are in the process of expanding our chapel and stage an extra 150 seats. Another 2-3 weeks and we will have so much room it will be hard see each other lol.
