A couple of years ago I realized I had a mixture of bridge spacing basses and resolved my basses to 18mm and 18.3mm basses. I had two MTD 19mm basses. I traded the 535 for the Buckeye Burl and replaced the 19mm bridge on my MTD Kingston ZX5. There is something special about a 19mm bridge spacing MTD neck with a Hipshot 18mm bridge. It’s a really nice playing bases and the string tension is perfect for me.
I did that too Ray but the wider neck was still there and still created a different feel for my left hand.
I’m really spoiled/accustomed to the 18.3mm spacing as well.
I know that we've all had this discussion before but the newer Roscoe's that I've gotten all have 18mm bridges (not the 18.3). It was never addressed (or explained by Roscoe) but all three of the more recent 5 string Roscoe's had 18mm Hipshot bridges. Subtle but still different.
Actually it's kinda cool seeing a totally surprising finish on a Roscoe.
