Roscoe Club

Argh!!
I have no need for this bass back.
I don’t need a fretless right now.
I am happy with my Fretted Century 5.
I had Roscoe build this for me.
I don’t need it.
I don’t really have $2K.
Looking at the photos of that beautiful bass, I noticed that the pickups are placed very close together. Just curious, Steve. Since you ordered this bass, did you specify the pickup placement or was that suggested by Keith? How does that affect the tone of the bass as opposed to the standard pickup spacing?

Right. It’s the special “JB” placement. It came stock with Jax soups but this has been modded to soapbars. It’s a really grisly sound with lots of mwah.

I don’t know why I haven’t tossed an offer out. That bass should be in my house next to my Century 5 Koa fretted. That’s what I had in mind when I spec’ed it out when I had it built.

The latest news is it should be finished next week.:woot:

The good news is that "next week" is really soon!!!

The bad news is that sometimes "next week" continues to elude us! :D

But, if we faint not we shall eventually achieve that which we desire! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

What's that? I think that I smell diamondcoat fumes in the air!:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Just trying to jump start this thread ...........

I just cleaned up my office/music/I-love-me/escape-from-the-angry-wifey room. So a family photo is appropriate.

And wifey found a photo of me from 20 years ago playing my fretless wonder! She was new back then (the bass AND the wifey- she was only girlfriend status back then). And I was so much cooler...

Good call, Joe. The final color and clear coats were sprayed last weekend, and now it needs to cure a few days before sanding and buffing.

I think Keith did a great job creating his flavor of Rootbeer while letting the grain show through. Notice a slice of the wenge wedge neck at the top of the headstock.

The wait isn't over, but progress is being made.:)

That's going to look awesome with a Wenge wedge neck. What's the fingerboard going to be?

I went with wenge. So, I believe it should have a distinct sound with a solid swamp ash body and a mostly wenge neck/fingerboard. Maybe I'm taking a bit of a gamble here, but I feel like it is a safe bet, especially with the Roscoe/Bart electronics.
