I’m debating this myself, as my Century has a thicker neck too (although it fits in well with my Lakland and other XYZ basses). I’m also curious how difficult/$$$ it would be to change the fingerboard as well, or maybe just have them make a new neck... it’s always something :D

I've got a set of those waiting in line to be used. Just not sure which bass to put them on. Can SS damage a diamondwood FB?

I ordered some knobs from Arpeggioglass from Etsy a couple times and have been real happy. For my latest Roscoe ( thanks to you! ) I ordered a 4 knob set I thought would kinda match this bass.

I lacquered these up to make them glossy. He then made a lower knob to match and waiting to receive it. My first sorta custom order from him and he has decent communication and turn around.

How are you liking the J/MM sound compared to the other Roscoes?

Assuming that you're talking about the SS flats, they are really smooth and won’t be abrasive at all Gary. However, Roundwond SS will certainly eventually leave some scratches on the Diamondwood finger board.

Me too. I have them on my P bass and it's heaven. Huge wide tones but a much more playable string that feels more similar to my other basses with rounds.

Oddly with all the flats that I've tried, the La Bella LTF's (and White nylons) and DR Legends are some of the only ones that I haven't tried.
It can be quite a costly endeavor (buying and trying flats).

I've got such an investment in the Dunlop flats now (3 sets; and I do really love them) that it'll probably be a while. But based on what you guys are saying, eventually I'll have to get a set and try them on one of my basses.

Yeah. You're right Skip. I should have stated that while the SS will put small scratches on the Diamondwood board it certainly doesn't damage it (which was actually Gary's question).
Although I suppose that a really heavy handed player might get a bit more wear with SS RW's.

Really nice in a mix too. Probably not the right string for a Rush tune but I thought I'd see how it sat in the mix. Probably an YYZ pedal would have helped (although Goldwave left just enough of Geddy's playing to add the OD edge).

Great job, Joe! I know you worked hard on that. And it shows! Lots of energy went in, and a ton of POW came out! Keep it up Joe. Who needs a band to work on your chops?;):thumbsup:
