Roscoe Club

Does Keith build these with standard Roscoe string spacing?
I might need to reconsider four stringers over the fivers that I have due to Father Time.

I hear you Ray.
I’m actually enjoying playing my 4 strings more than my 5’s these days.

I wish I had something to sell to get that P/J Roscoe 4. If I hadn’t just purchased a new Mesa Subway 210 I’d be all over it.

Well I took the new (to me) Roscoe to practice tonight and man does this thing sing! The mellowness of a mahogany body paired with the snap of a wenge fingerboard. Love it Love it!

Glad that it arrived safely. That’s definitely a good looking Roscoe and it’s got a great combination of woods.
You’ll have to bring it by the house sometime.

Got my new 2020 Spalted Myrtle SKB3005 in and it is really nice. The Aguilar Super Doubles sound great along with the Wenge woods gives one of the best growls I’ve played. I think it’s more clear and punch over the Roscoe Bart’s I’m used to. The woods on this bass compliment each other and are my favorite tonewoods. Keith nailed the weight in this as it’s the lightest one yet at 8.4 pounds.

That’s really purty. What does the inside of the control cavity look like with the 5 knobs? I was going to get mine retrofitted with the tone knob while Keith has ot, but looking inside, it’s all carved out beautifully for the 4 existing knobs/pots.

Congratulations Dennis,

Mahogany Body with Wenge board, that's a great combination. Looks like the neck center is Wenge also. SWEET!!

;)

WOW that Myrtle is incredible. Now I remember why I don't follow this thread constantly, I look at my 2 standard plus basses with sadness. Then I start looking around the house for something to sell so that I can start my first custom (you all know it'll lead to at least 1 more). We don't really need a new fridge do we, and I'm sure I could sell a car. Heck my kids are going to school virtually for at least the next semester, and then they can walk! And surely community college is just as good as the expensive schooling that my son's getting! :)

I keeeeeed I keeeeed

Congratulations on that beauty!!! I may have to get a set of those Super Doubles!!

I don’t. I think they are beautiful. Sure the custom and signature basses are beautiful, but my Standard Plus basses have amazing good as well. I’ve played/owned the fancy Roscoe’s and I actually prefer my Standard Plus basses.

If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with!:)
