That was your old bass Jon. Gary was caught on film playing it at one of our GTG’s. I bought yours from you and eventually sold it to a guy in California (who still has it). That was a great bass!

I don't see a single-cut in my future, but I am seeing new knobs for my Buckeye Burl LG!! Thanks to Keith for taking the time to find a more suitable piece of wood to match my bass and sending it to THG, and to Roger for remaking them. Great customer service from both!!
Nice Ray. Roger is making wenge access covers for my Roscoe. Hopefully I’ll hear a status soon. You never really know until you get a PayPal invoice.
It took Roger 2 months to get my last set of knobs and Wenge control covers for my new Roscoe lol. They turned out really nice as he layered them like my bass with the woods and done a Wenge marker line on top. It’s my first set by him with a poly coat also and they turned out nice.
I remember years ago Keith offered Demeter and Glockenklang preamps. I have a Glock in one of my other basses and it is my favorite pre. Anyone know how these 2 preamps compare?
I’ve never heard the Glock preamp. Crash installed a Glock and a Demeter in Roscoe’s and the main comment I remember him saying was that the Glock didn’t quite have the glassy highs that the Demeter did. That was my favorite thing about the Demeter preamp. It has great glassy highs.

That's interesting. The Glock has the highest hi frequency, +/- 18 dB@18 KHz, that I've seen. It totally transformed Bart pickups in another bass of mine. The crispy highs is what stands out to me. Crispy... glassy... is there a difference?
When I use the words “glassy highs” I’m referring to the sound of tubes (pillowy highs). Crisp highs can be harsh. Not always but more so than tubey sounding highs. Terrible description I know.....
OK, I see. I owned Mo's(from Nordstrand) Century with the Demeter briefly. There was something special about that. I do recall that "tubeyness". Would have kept it but it was the heaviest bass I ever owned. I guess different ears hear different things.
I admire how Keith is willing to put different preamps in his own basses. But when it came down to my custom order, I wanted his Roscoe/Bartolini pickups and preamp. There's really nothing like it.
I feel anything would sound good in Keith’s basses as the construction and the way he builds his necks just creates a beastly bass. However, I’m like you and agree it’s hard to beat the Roscoe Bart experience. There’s just something about that warm thickness in a full band mix that’s hard to beat.
Yeah, I’ve always had Bart/Bart in my Roscoe’s. It’s just the combination that says Roscoe to me.
For that matter, I’ve had Bart/Bart in most basses I’ve liked. Modulus. Lakland. A surprisingly nice Yamaha BB605 I modded.
