Roscoe Club

. . just don't think I will play it much.
I can relate. For me it concerns 2 issues: 1) Buying an instrument sight unseen fully negates the possibility of chemistry that manifests when holding and playing the instrument. Are the ergonomics to my liking? Is the tone palette one that fits my playing scenarios and goals? Is the playability according to my liking and standard?

How all of these combine form my overall reaction, both logically and emotionally. My reaction of the instrument "calling me to play" is what I call chemistry. My reaction of not imagining future use is a scenario resulting in the instrument being listed for sale.

2) Playing fretless EBG is its own endeavor or craft. My experience is that it is relatively easy to transition from fretless EBG to fretted. Once getting over the shock of missing expression attributes of fretted EBG, it quickly becomes business as usual.

However, transitioning to fretless from fretted is not a 1-hour event. It takes me a long time to transition back to fretless after a lapse in playing it. For me, fretless playing demands first priority, or my technique and comfort levels decrease dramatically, reducing my enjoyment and confidence levels commensurately.

If you were ordering a new custom Lg or Skb with an exhibition quilt top, which transparent colour would you choose? No natural allowed :sorry:

Something with burst. I like my sienna, but red or even blue would work.

Not the BE stained fingerboard...... but that body kills!!View attachment 4202856

That looks like it tastes incredible! You're right, a bright maple board against that body colour would be something hmmmm...

No, not mine but if I made an order with quilt or flame, that's what I would get.

Gotcha! Such a great suggestion for the colour, thank you.

I'd shoot more at the SKB in a 6'er. The neck to body ratio just looks better to me. IMHO YMMV IJS

I've owned both Lg and Skb 6ers, I loved the Lg a smidge more. It felt more 'fun'? I get you though, the Lg6 looks pretty funky haha
