RULES YOU'D LIKE TO SEE ON TB

I was using the sarcasm Thor mentioned when I posted sort of a holier-than-thou attitude that you mentioned. Synergetic Sarcasm. It's coming to the thead near you.

Mike

Not a problem man! There's too many members on here to be able to read between the lines with everyone.

It reminds me of my time in the Navy, on the small ships everyone knew eachother, on the large ships you'll bump into someone on any particular day then you won't see their face for another 8 months.

This site is a Nimitz Class Carrier:D

How long are you without sleep now? :eyebrow:

;)

Actually, I had just enough math at school to understand this.

Yes, I'll second this.

edit:

Thor, it's s2N+1, that's the correct formula for how exponential the epic win is. You don't need mathematic row to define the value of N then.

Thanks for the correction. It was getting a bit late. That
is a more elegant statement of the concept for sure.

I would like a rule where the posting font of a member is two times the number of years the poster has been a member. Joined in 2006:3 year member: Posts appear in a 6 point font.

Also, thread starter should have a a different font/color applied to his/her screen name (or some smilie) so it's easier to pick out his/her posts within a thread.

For the TB members who don't want any rules or less rules, non-productive posts/flames/etc. make the search function less useful. The search function is primitive at best and why make it worse with more emo posts that, IMO, serve no useful, positive, etc. purpose.

I really like this idea.

How about a cyber slap-in-the-mush for those "I just ordered a new XXXXX ... what are your settings for this?" threads?

Seriously, the best part of getting new gear is plugging it in and playing with all the buttons, knobs, switches, etc. to see what you can make it do. In the process, you usually manage to learn something.

All thread titles that contain the word HATE in any forum except OT should be zapped by a bot. Nothing good ever comes from them
I wouldn't make an exception for OT, but otherwise I highly approve. Gawd, enough of the use of "hate", "haters" and "hating on" to describe the slightest bit of criticism of something one likes.

The Maki Rules be stickied.

The limits for punishment be expanded. There have been some seriously crude, and uncalled for posts in every subforum lately, especially on ignorant new players or teenagers/children. We are your new generation, like it or not, and making us feel bad about our playing or gear doesnt help.

Well maybe they shouldn't be ignorant, now should they? I swear to God, if I hear one more kid talk about how bassists who play with picks suck or how the only good basses are four string ibanezs I'm gonna start busting heads.
