I'd like a rule that would automatically send a cyber turd to the dummy that bumps a thread with "."
No more threads from people asking if they should sell their gear to help their families. We have homeless people living under bridges in my town and the economy has hit us all. No sharing personal problems, which I am guilty of myself. I felt stupid for over sharing, afterward. God helps those who help themselves.
Whenever somebody applies for membership, they should be required to fill out at least a partial profile. Sometimes somebody's post makes you want to check out their profile (for good or bad). I hate when there's nothing there. No location, nothing. Now get off my lawn...
Yes, yes, yes! It gets downright pathetic sometimes. There are at least two long threads in Basses right now where the OP couldn't even choose correctly between "to" and "too" in the thread title.They could be mixed with grammar Nazi days. Maybe even, dare I suggest, punctuation police.
Especially in the Classifieds. That's just obnoxious.infractions for thread titles in all caps
I disagree. While you might be civil and make sure to put things right, some people never do. And these arguments just get far too heated.
I SHOUT to get everyone's attention, then switch to a polite level for normal conversation. It seems to get results, so I will continue. SORRY-ish.
One that bugs me just a little are the people who post that they're quitting smoking, and we go 6 or 7 pages of people offering helpful advice ... then we find out they're still smoking. I know it's hard, but maybe one should be a little more serious before they post

The civility and politeness requirements are relative to the ignorance of another poster.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.
The only change I'd really like to see is stop oiling the greasy wheels. Those that whine and complain about trivial stuff and love to report every post (you know who you are) because they find them questionable based solely on their own sets of beliefs, views, norms, etc, should be acknowledged as the cry-arsses they are by the mods.
Granted, there are of course valid issues that need to be brought to mods attention, but those who cannot take any disagreement, criticism, confrontation, or even a good-hearted internet argument should step away from the keyboard long enough to grow a set! When said set is grown, they should go lop 'em off, because they are acting like little whiney girls anyway!

on a serious note, if you guys have a complaint about anyone in particular, please contact me or any of the other admins and we'll do what we can about it. privacy will be respected (guaranteed) and action will be taken, if there's a valid complaint to be had.
In my defense/admission of guilt in instigating this bit of silliness, I had NOT intended it to be so *serious* and thought of the suggestion box soon after starting it(facepalm).
