Dr. Cheese, you seem to be bothered deeply by the same news articles that bother me. We must be related.

This one is disgusting. Even more disgusting are the faces of the relatives who did this. before I even saw their pictures, I could guess what they looked like. Scrolling down, my estimation was correct. They look like a couple of pit bulls. Disgusting human beings that are allowed to breed, and allowed to vote.

That's horrible. I always give my little girl an extra kiss and cuddle for some reason when I read about girls of a similar age dying, especially in horrendous circumstances like this. What a terrible way for a young life to end.

It was disgusting. IMO, people who do things like this have for some reason become so desensitized that they have lost a sense of proportion. The girl ate some candy bars that she should not have, heck don't let here watch her favorite show. Take away her favorite toy two for two days. Don't let her wear her favorite dress to school tomorrow. Run for 3 hours, that would hurt a world class athlete, let alone a five year old child!:rollno:

Everytime I see a story like this, I feel sick for days. I keep asking 'why?'.

Then I go home, hug my daughter and sons, and let it salve my soul. Until the next story like this makes the news, that is.

The accused in this case - if guilty - need to go far away for a very long time. And there should be a special layer of Hell reserved for them and their ilk.:mad:

If Hell exists, there most certainly is. And if it doesnt, hell on earth, for the remainder of their lives places a close second.

I have to imagine that there is some remorse from those who perpetrated this, as I dont think this outcome was the intent of the punishment. But, seriously, go run for 3 hours? HOW STUPID IS THAT?

If they're charged with murder it would be necessary to prove the women actually intended to kill the girl. I find this hard to believe.

I would guess this is a crime of abject vindictiveness combined with utter stupidity.

Very, very sad.

Also a state pathologist ruled it a homicide. Now the girl died of severe dehydration. How exactly does a pathologist have the authority to decide it was a homicide?

I had a Marine Corps buddy who would punish his kid with running. I don't think he ever denied him water or made him run for hours on end though. That kid is an all state high school football star today.

I think these women will be charged with child endangerment or negligent manslaughter. A murder charge will never stick.

You're absolutely right about this.

Just for reference, as distance runners in high school we were in top condition from running 6-7 miles every day, 7 days a week. Yet, there is a limit to how long even conditioned athletes can run before the body becomes dangerously depleted and begins to shut down. After about 1 1/2 hours, signifigant discomfort sets in, even at a moderate jogging pace. Keep running for more than about 2 hours and it becomes so painful that it's difficult to continue. Fortunately, our coach was never dumb enough to make any of us run that long.

It makes me wonder just how these women forced this 9 year old girl to keep running for 3 hours. Sadistic ****s. :scowl:
