yeah mine were 25th of january so i went the whole year without that claim. NOT THIS TIME THO 3800 per kid write off. hmmm tasty.

Paging Max... I put a pair of matching MCM Electronics 15" subs in my 2x15, I upgraded from the $27 woofer to the $40 ones. The cheaper ones were LOUD but didnt have alot of bass response, so far I'm getting alot more low end out of the slightly more expensive woofers, if they have enough balls then I'm sticking to these $40 drivers for the foreseeable future. I'll let yinz know how they sound, or if I just end up blowing more speakers.

i've discovered over the years that for dirt/doom i have to solo the bridge pickup (sans cap). soo much heavier and more defined - Sartori can back me up on this, i'm pretty sure he does the same thing.

i experimented with the neck pickup again the other day and it's got a bit too much boom/flub to be the main bass tone. perhaps if i put an old toaster in there rather than the hi-gain it would sound better but i'm averse to modifying a rick!

theres just nothing i find good about them. their music comes across and hokey and cheesy, lemmy cant sing, theres no kick ass heavy riffage, theres nothing epic, its just like overhyped edgy late 70s rock. and i have no problem understanding the time period and the "it was cool back then" factor, but theres so much better music from that era that i have no clue how motorhead got so big. their name is awesome, thats about as far as it goes lol.

I like that though, the Ric's stock pickups have so much character to them, and the Gibson style controls give you alot of flexibility. I keep the neck pup tone all the way down, vol around half.... bridge tone wide open and volume cranked. Generally I'll use one tone or the other for an entire song, but theres a couple I actively switch it mid-song.

Trippy modulation effects definitely play nicer with the tone-roll-off neck pup than the hot grindy bridge. So theres that.

Yeah I can dig. I normally run everything wide open on mine, maybe back off the volume on the neck pup. But soloing the bridge is quite awesome, I think that's what Al does. I like the bass cannon neck pup added in personally, my guitar players tone is pretty beefy so I need that extra BOOM to create that sub foundation. The bridge pup cuts through mixes like a samurai sword but there's no bass underneath.

Ive got rid of all my 15" MCM speakers, still have an18" that was totally the wrong speaker to buy, but only a $60 mistake. My new 215 has EVMs in it and those are brutally loud. From my experience with MCM stuff, its cheap replacements that make sound, but real good speakers will walk all over them tone wise.
