saddest bass line ever?

Agreed with A Remark You Made, a beautiful, but sad melody played on bass. I love it, but it is sad and true, an idle remark or a pointed one can potentially be devastating.

I agree that the bass line for A remark you made is the one of the saddest lines ever but for me the saddest line for bass is the Nathan Hughes line for song Glove

A Remark You Made is pretty tough to beat, but Peter Gabriel's Mercy Street and Don't Give Up (both Tony Levin?) must both also be contenders.

"Misunderstanding" (from the CD "Meant to Be") by the bassist David Troncoso. The melody line is a descending pitch melody which of course is rare...most melody lines go up in pitch. The bass line is lovely but sad.

There is even a sad story behind the song. Troncoso is not very well known but his music is wonderful. Check him out.
